I post about roads primarily. It's a niche interest. I rarely post on X, but yesterday I posted an image of a burning Glider and commented that we only have about 30 of these vehicles and that they cost £700k each. That post has so far got 1.1 million views and hundreds of replies. 1/2

Happy 60th birthday 🎂 to the M1 motorway from #Moira (j9) to #Lurgan (j10) which opened on this day in 1966 at a total cost of £3.5m. The stretch is 9.6 km long and includes a high-skew crossing over the main Belfast-Dublin railway line.

How not to answer a question, demonstrated here by the DFI Minister. In my view, this is a reasonable and pertinent question because it's not clear to me exactly what risk there is to the A1 and A4 schemes from the current A5 legal case. The Minister still hasn't explained the rationale for pausing.

@infrastructure-ni.gov.uk today said "There has been no delay to the Belfast Rapid Transport 2 (BRT2) project". But the referenced press release from February 2025 says "Work will begin on this phase later this year [2025]." That looks like a delay to me. 🤔
