Yeah my phone filters some of them but some come from regular people w/normal numbers and don't flag, so I have to manually deal with them. I wish there was a universal opt-out that had to be respected because it gets so outta hand and then I end up just ignoring text notifications in general 😩

I do plan to (also?) stream on YT and/or stream.place cause I enjoy streaming and want to see if I can have fun with it on different platforms with different communities. Maybe that will bring new opportunities for growth and income! Idk but Twitch unforch feels like increasingly diminishing returns

I haven't streamed in months for multiple reasons, but Twitch being That Way is making it less appealing by the day. I do not/have not earn(ed) enough to stay for the monetization but I like the community features and there aren't good alternatives. It's annoying to feel kinda stuck.

Twitch is easy to start streaming on, and it's not terribly difficult to make affiliate and start earning, so it can become a meaningful income source (even if it is not a significant income for many). It has no natural predators right now. There aren't (m)any other places for creators to go 😩

I don't use these words for no reason. I don't always include "Black", and "queer" in my channel tags for no reason. I want to be as easy to find as I am to avoid and I want any viewer or advertiser to stay away if they don't want to see or platform my Black, fat, queer ass

I, personally, use these terms with the explicit expectation that doing so likely excludes my channel from certain advertisers. I want folks in my streams who align with me, and crucially I want folks who don't align to be turned off. That applies to advertisers too.

My point being that a lot of us have likely already been negatively impacted by automatic filtering because we use terms in our channel titles, tags, and profiles that likely exclude us from certain campaigns anyway. AI will exacerbate an existing problem, but I doubt it's creating a new one.

Yeah, Twitch is definitely looking worse and worse as a platform There aren't many alternatives, and certainly none that are aren't also leaning into leveraging AI and training LLMs... very annoying to be a creator now, esp one reliant on these platforms for income 😩

I have noticed that the people who find AI tools useful outside of writing code for them tend to be profoundly uncreative, like "unable to conceive of people who are different from them" levels of uncreative. They find the tools useful because actual creativity is not among their need set.

I don't want these things automated at all, but they BEEN automated. "AI" is just the same shit with more autonomy (yikes) but it's not like human people were assigning advertisers/campaigns to streamers manually—outside of their largest partners, of course. Its always been an algorithm 🤷🏾‍♀️

Bring an insulated bottle to the interview then you can have literally any beverage you want and they can't beat your ass 😂 But for real, any thing that will leave a moisture ring on a surface should be be avoided lol but a reasonably sized insulated bottle/tumbler is practical 🤷🏾‍♀️

I painted my room, two rast dressers, some stools, and a p.s. cabinet + got a new rug and bedding and my room is such a vibe now, and makes me feel good to wake up in. I spent more than I planned but the emotional reward is worth it cause I like being in my space, it feels *good.*
