Since the rumors are seeming more and more likely, I guess I WILL ramble about a possible Ocarina of Time remake. Ocarina of Time is a 10/10 game. A 1:1 remake of Ocarina of Time would not be a 10/10 game.

Ocarina of Time is a 10/10 game. A 1:1 remake of Ocarina of Time would not be a 10/10 game. The 3DS remake was novel, but it was just that, a 1:1 remake with a few QoL improvements. While OoT is one of my top 3 favorite games of all time, the groundbreaking gameplay it had is no longer groundbreaking and there are many ways the game could be improved. Hyrule Field could be less barren. You're telling me there's no wandering traders or just folks travelling across the field by day in Young Link's timeline? Hyrule Castle Town is also comically small. It's packed, sure, and there's subtle indicators that there might be more to it than we're able to explore, right? Let us explore it. Give us more worldbuilding like the infamous missable dying guard.

Death Mountain is a joke. Run backwards and avoid all danger. Who is dying on that mountain? Make it actually live up to its name. Make the climb challenging (not tedious, though). Goron City is really cool, but there's no way there's only like 12 Gorons in the entirety of Hyrule?? Speaking of population sizes, Hyrule itself is pretty barren! Every city/settlement has like, what, maybe 10 average citizens?

Kokiri Forest has a ton of lore that absolutely could and should be explored more deeply. We know these eternal children basically worship the Deku Tree and believe they'll die if they leave the forest. Why not explore that more? Give us even some crumbs of a story with a Kokiri child who maybe DOES want to find out the truth? Alt text won't let me add more, unfortunately.
