Finally got back into drawing after not really doing any since last semester! Here's a fun little drawing of my fursona that I ultimately decided to make into a sticker! :3 shoutout to @meteor_showerz for reminding me how to draw and for putting up with me […] [Original post on mastodon.online]
Headshot drawing of my fursona, an American marten colored with several shades of brown and tan. He has bright orange markings on his face and neck, and golden mostly round glasses. There's a series of bright outlines around the headshot, green, orange, and then white, making it look more like a sticker.

Popped in to ~/Library/ to clean up the application support files for an app I was uninstalling and discovered that someone isn't handling their paths correctly. I’m especially amused because this means they must be building that path themselves, instead of […] [Original post on mastodon.online]
Screenshot of a portion of a macOS Finder window. The current folder is ~/Library/, and inside of it you can see two folders named "Application Support" and "Application%20Support".Another Finder screenshot, inside of the “Application%20Support” folder. The only folder inside is named “discord”.

Just submitted my application for access to production in Google Play Console for TigerDine! Once Google (hopefully) accepts my application, TigerDine for Android will be widely available on the Play Store. From here I'll be working on some polish, and then […] [Original post on mastodon.online]
Heading: "Apply for access to production"
Body: "Production is where you make your app available to billions of users on Google Play. Before you can apply for production access, you need to run a closed test which meets our criteria. When you apply, you'll also need to answer some questions about your closed test."

Below this is a card:
Heading: "We have your application for production access"
Body: "We're reviewing your application form. We'll email the account owner with an update. This usually takes 7 days or less, but may occasionally take longer. Applied today, 5:52 PM."

Change I just discovered by accident: the new “slide to power off” screen is *sexy*! I actually really like the glassy look here on all the sliders, and don’t even get me started on the SOS slider. The “SOS” text on the button uses HDR, so it appears super […] [Original post on mastodon.online]
iPhone “slide to power off” screen. There are three sliders, stacked vertically. The first and second are white on translucent backgrounds and say “slide to power off” and “medical ID”, respectively. The third one is red on a translucent background, with bright red “SOS” text on the part you slide, and the text “emergency call”. The red “SOS” text is using HDR and appears much brighter than all other color on the screen.

Some more work has been done on TigerDine for Android! Thanks to @DamiDoop spending a lot of time figuring out how on earth to implement a Material 3 Expressive SegmentedListItem, the main location list looks much much better! I also updated the app to use […] [Original post on mastodon.online]

god forbid a guy makes a new iDVD project on OS X Lion #osx #mac #legacymac
A photo of the screen of a white polycarbonate mid-2010 MacBook. You can see from the wallpaper on the edges of the screen that this Mac is running Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. In the center of the screen is a window displaying an empty iDVD project. The text of an OS X kernel panic is printed over the entire contents of the screen, showing that the OS has crashed.

Just finished this revised version of my furry pfp I've been using on most sites! Same base sketch as the previous version, but now with revised hair, glasses, ears, mouth structure, and a lot more minor things. I also actually used Krita's stabilizer for […] [Original post on mastodon.online]

Other photo I had a lot of fun trying to get at the new performing arts building!
I sit most of the way up the steps of the amphitheater on the side of the new RIT performing arts centre in the sun, wearing a zip hoodie and light jeans.

One whole year done. #RIT
I stand leaned against the brick wall of a building in a black zip sweatshirt and light jeans. You can see the remainder of my quickly fading purple hair dye. Above the door of the building is the text “B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences” in metal lettering.

Additionally, I added extra Nutika flags to set the application version and copyright string for this build! This (afaik) has no effect on Linux, but on macOS and Windows it means that the OS will actually tell you the proper version instead of “1.0.0” (or “1 […] [Original post on mastodon.online]

Hastily taken photo of the edge of the woods on the RIT campus. The sun is visible in the sky through a couple of trees thin clouds, but otherwise the sky is clear and blue.

...but it gets the job done. Once I have the maps ID, I just hand that over to the density API and tada! I know how busy a location is. From there the UI side was easy. I just have a row of four person icons, with each one representing 20% occupancy, and it […] [Original post on mastodon.online]

For those curious, this is the crappy stock image for this motherboard. Weird “GAMER!!!”design aside t looks especially bad because it’s small on screen and just surrounded by black lol
A metallic grey background with sparks coming from the bottom and the text “MAG” in white at the center. It’s also like 400x300 so it’s weird small for the purpose.

Managed to finally change the boot logo for my motherboard so it isn’t the weird metal MSI MAG thing anymore! Much happier with this one! Might make it a little smaller still so the spinner doesn’t clip with it, but either way a cute fluffy dragon is a huge […] [Original post on mastodon.online]
Photo of a computer monitor showing the early stages of the computer booting. On screen is a cute drawing of a red, fluffy, anthropomorphic dragon with yellow wings wearing a white hoodie and grey shorts. The text “msi” is to the bottom left of the dragon, and at the very bottom of the screen is the triangle logo for Arch Linux and the text “archlinux”.

Jesus christ. I know LTT can’t ever resist clickbait, but I really thought they were above this. This video existing will only make the problem worse, and is going to spread even more confusion and fear. Do better.

NUSGet Web now supports URL parameters! This should make it easier to share a specific title with someone if they need to download it. The valid parameters are "tid", "ver", "format", "console", and "wadname", and the URL will automatically be filled in with […] [Original post on mastodon.online]
A screenshot of the NUSGet Web interface, with the parameters on screen filled out with the values TID: 0000000100000009, Version: 1034, WAD Name: IOS9-64-v1034.wad. The URL is also visible, demonstrating that these parameters were specified as part of the URL and were loaded in the interface automatically.

A web interface with the heading "NUSGet Web Beta v1.0" at the top, with the text "WASM Client Side Version - Return to Client-Server Stable Release" below it. The interface features a text entry box labeled "Title ID", a text entry box labeled "Version", a disabled dropdown labeled "Console" with the option "Wii" selected, and a set of radio buttons labeled "Download Format", where only one one option is not disabled, labeled "Installable Archive (WAD/TAD)". Below this interface is a button labeled "Start Download" and an empty box with a black border. The same interface as the previous image, now with "0000000100000002" entered in the "Title ID" box and "513" entered in the "Version" box. An updated version of the NUSGet Web interface, now titled "NUSGet Web Beta" at the top. The form components have been updated to use Bootstrap rather than the default HTML style. There's also a new set of radio buttons under the title "Download Format" labeled "Installable Archive (WAD/TAD)", "Encrypted Contents", and "Decrypted Contents". Text next to the download button indicates that a Title with the Title ID "0000000100000009" was downloaded successfully.

Went ahead an opted for the split frontend/backend because this won't work client-side. The backend is an API using Flask that's directly using libWiiPy to create a WAD for the requested title and version. The frontend makes a request to […] [Original post on mastodon.online]

thwarted by CORS :( (I did try a public demo CORS proxy and my very basic code worked as expected, but that's not quite viable for production)
