We will soon lose a fellow campaigner, whether or not EEI has reached a permanently higher 'baseline' in recent years, which is equivalent to: falling below +1.5K (pre-industrial levels) is physically impossible (for a very long time) and 'warming' is accelerating. 🤡

If anomalies in the Niño 3.4 region hold near +4 K, a massive atmospheric warming event is locked in. After next year, a return to temperatures below +1.5 K (pre-industrial levels) is highly unlikely - or rather, physically impossible, given the current EEI. berkeleyearth.org/august-2026-...

The CMIP7 high-confidence scenario involves cumulative emissions of 500 to 600 Gt CO₂-equivalent by 2035. By the 2030s, we will see individual months, then a full year, exceeding +2°C. At that point, our discourse surrounding the 'broken +2K target' will mirror today's rhetoric on +1.5°K... 🤡

In den 1980/90ern ging man davon aus, dass Dt ~2100 gletscherfrei sein werde. 2000/10ern korrigierte man auf 2050 nach vorn. 2.Bayerischer Gletscherbericht 2021 korrigierte auf 2030-35. Zwischen 2000 u 2026 verloren Schweizer Gletscher 50% an Volumen. Die Ostalpen schmelzen noch schneller. 😴 ☠️

Ppl won't stop eating meat, driving cars, buying plastic stuff, traveling by plane... Who needs clean water or food or medicine next decades? All the fossil fueled destruction was definitely worth it. 🤡 Since 2022, more than 20% of Swiss glaciers have been lost. Tja...schade Schokolade. 🤷‍♂️

Üblicherweise erreicht zb der Bodensee seine niedrigsten Pegelstände im Spätwinter. Der jetzige Pegel liegt bereits darunter u wird weiter absinken. Der "Klimawandel" verläuft ungebremst und beschleunigt sich. Trinkwasser und Nahrung sind evtl wichtiger als Frachtraten id Binnenschifffahrt. 🤷‍♂️

Zumal Ausbaggerungen die bestehenden Probleme teils verschärfen und die Güterverkehr-Binnenschiffahrt in Dt nicht retten. Neben d strukturellen Dürre herrschen leider auch strukturelle Blödheit und fatale Kurzsicht. An Bagger-Projekten lt BVWP 2030 wird festgehalten und neue kommen hinzu. 🤡

Nach 2018 u 2022 ist 2026 wieder flächendeckendes, extremes Niedrigwasser im Rhein. Für einige Reedereien bedeutet das kurzfristig tolle Umsatzsteigerungen, für Touristensbetriebe teils komplette Umsatzwegbrüche. Die Binnenschiffahrt im Güterverkehr steuert auf die Unwirtschaftlichkeit zu. 🤡

(Wieder) ein katastrophales Jahr: Der Schnee größtenteils bereits Ende Juni abgeschmolzen. Nullgradgrenze lag fast beständig über 4000m, sommerlicher Niederschlag fiel hauptsächlich als Regen. 2.-schlimmstes Jahr nach 2022. Permafrost u Gletscher zerfallen regelrecht. www.dw.com/de/rekordsch...

Umweltbundesamt gibt jährliche Emissionen von über 50 Mio t CO2-Äquivalente für entwässerte Moore an. Aus Landwirten sind längst Energiewirte geworden. Da sorgt man sich um Maisdeckel und nicht um Renaturierung. CO2 ist iwann auch fertig entwichen aus den Mooren. 🤡 www.dehst.de/DE/Themen/Kl...

Anfang Mai sah es eigentlich recht gut aus, iVz den letzten Jahren. Aber wie so häufig seit 2014 u insb 2018 wieder im Defizit gelandet. Das wird auch durch ein nasses Jahr wie 2021 nicht ausgeglichen. 25 Tropentage (>=30°C) u 4 Gluttage (>=40°C) bislang. Heute wieder ~40 Grad. Und erst Juli... 🫠
