Seems like we'd fix a lot, by just mandating a zero-tolerance all-ages-dry policy; with Greek life and sports orgs backing that up, and enforcing it. I've been personally observing this, for over 40 years. Bolder efforts to enforce +21 policies, haven't worked. What would it take?

Holy shit... they're only polling ONE percentage-point apart. 🤯🫪 My partner is on Medicare, as many farmers are—and has learned a ton about Oregon having some of the best public healthcare in the US, in spite of 🍊. That's all Korek and Brown. We'd lose that, and so much else, with Drazan.

My own take on Koebler's take is that he's mocking the notion of honestly considering model sentience. Not the broader concern you seem to be raising (and I heartily agree with), which is that human pleasure derived from synthetic pain is just as toxic as human pleasure derived from sentient pain.

Not at all, is the thing. Many out where I live are so far removed. For knowledge workers, yes; but the impact on laborers, real estate, retail, health, gov, ag and service workers is far lower. Supply chain stuff & lending are the only impacts I can think of, that cd widely impact ppl where I live.

There was & remains practical use for the internet in the consumer market, beyond measure. AI is just one extension of the internet, and there is very little practical need for neural network computing among regular non-techy folks.

This afternoon we found out our sweet Tigger is in the end stages of liver failure. 2 weeks into his cancer treatment. Sunday we'll be sending him over the rainbow bridge via an at-home euthenasia vet. Big day of ugly crying, snuggles, and loving on our 16y/o guy.

The lived reality of transgender women a few years post-transition whom also completed a male puberty is a honkin' set of bones, but the musculature and stamina of a lady. THAT is "unfair," but living one's truth and still competing in spite of nature's mistake, is joy. More joy, less grievance.

There was also an amazing trans woman weightlifter at the last Olympics—and her story imho also debunks the "It's so unfair!!" points, and I'd love to see her and the biologic realities she surfaced get more attention. TL;DR: Male puberty = giant skeletal mass. Estrogen = inadequate muscle mass.

"So few" = none, yet the pedophile cis-men coaching or working in a support capacity for girls and boys sports keeps being written-off as exceptions to ignore. As a sexual assault survivor, it's infuriating. They're all but erasing the survivors of US Gymnastics, Jerry Sandusky, and so many others.
