Saturday self-soothing. By making an infographic. As I do. TL;DR, no singular point of intervention will fix this. We can keep simplifying what's not simple, or dig-in to really fix shit. Now, taking my OCD (and PTSD'd) self out to do farm chores. I am also Jane Doe. It's been a week.

This uses carrot pulp as its base, and is more flavorful than OMGHEEEAT. I have a depressingly Midwestern heat tolerance, so adore this one. My sweetie loves big heat otoh, so likes their BEWARE flavor. There's also a Grapefruit flavor I loved for fried chicken. Rainbow Grocery carried all of them.

Mt Hood Meadows is being evacuated. This is 45min from my house. I'm currently in Portland proper, and it's sunny and beautiful. My partner at home is wearing a mask, inside the house. When I got into my truck to leave, a cloud of ash blew off the roof. 370 AQI.

Most of my favorite albums seem to have come out in both 1988 and 1989, but 1990 was the year I turned 16. The Good Son, by Nick Cave, is probably tied with Heaven & Las Vegas by The Cocteau Twins. Still a favorite. Live, Mr Cave is still amazing.

4 quarts of canned apples, 6 quarts of frozen peaches, and 14 pints of canned chicken stock leftover from earlier in the week. ~3k steps to do all of that—which feels incredibly dystopian to care about, but for a day mostly spent in my kitchen, that feels impressive!

Police departments "can't afford" to process rape kit backlogs, so a non-profit had to be founded to do that—but when a CEO is targeted in a slaying they can get an excavator to grab a backpack—while testing every speck of dirt around it. Seriously, WTF?!
