We spent months interviewing locals, pouring over sale records, permit applications, and changing regulations, for @insideclimatenews.org on the way developers and financial constraints are impacting the Altadena rebuild. Another great collaboration with the unflappable @stevenrodas.bsky.social!

Thank you to all the speakers — David Akana (@mongabay.com), @geoffdembicki.bsky.social (@desmog.com), @ninardietz.bsky.social, Jazzmin Jiwa, and @jskoff.bsky.social (@ucberkeleyofficial.bsky.social) — who shared their climate stories at our panel yesterday at the Narrative Change Summit.
CCNow's Mark Hertsgaard introduces the panel and talks about why journalism IS a climate solution. Jason Spingarn-Koff shares the trailer of his new film, The Coral Rescuers, a follow-up to Chasing Coral. Geoff Dembicki of Desmog News talks about their year long investigation that revealed letters and copies of checks Exxon mailed to the right-wing Atlas Network in the 1990s to turn Latin America against climate treaties.Jazzmin Jiwa shared highlights from her award-winning reporting that appeared in Documented. In the course of a year-long investigation, reporters Carla Mandiola and Jazzmin Jiwa spoke with dozens of migrants and analyzed 9 million government immigration records. The 237,000 migrants who have arrived in New York City since 2022 came from near and far, but many share a common backstory of their former homes being rendered unlivable by the many effects of climate change, in particular the collapse of local food systems.

Morning all! Thanks to @ninardietz.bsky.social we've gotten a pre-scrub backup of all CDC Atlas data tables. I need help though. This data has been spread everywhere & I'm not sure all the places it's gone. Would anyone want to create a spreadsheet of CDC datasets in official archives/repos?
