it was ten years ago that I tripped on a suitcase and broke a toe that somehow led my body to develop erythromelalgia. It has been a long road but while my life is no doubt smaller, I am doing so much better.

The administration is attacking universities in the name of fighting antisemitism. Yet when the home of a Jewish governor is set on fire on the first night of Passover—a blatant act of antisemitism— nary a word from you know who.

Remember when bringing up Hitler as a historical parallel (or claiming the idea came from him) in an argument automatically led to losing that argument? Reductio ad Hitlerum I don't think that it the case anymore.

As a Jew who works in academia, let me say this again, for the back of the room. We are safest in a country where the government protects the civil rights of everyone, regardless of their opinions on Jews and Israel. Stop illegal actions in our name. Stop attacking academia in our name.

it seems one of the stated purposes of capping overhead on NIH grants at 15% by those who champion the cap is to starve PhD programs in the humanities www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
screenshot from a New York Times article that quotes Jay Greene, senior research fellow at the right-wing Heritage Foundation, as saying of research overhead: "That's how you get things like the ability of administrators to use larger overhead pools of money to build out D.E.I. bureaucracies, or to fund Ph.D. programs in the humanities"

A tweet by Rep. Gloria Johnson (

The document controversially references Adolf Hitler in the context of training youth. A news headline reads: 'Tennessee Republican women’s group cites Hitler in promoting its reading list' by Sarah Dolgin. Johnson comments: "Well, here we are. Tell me again how we didn’t see what we saw. Chattanooga Republican women say to be like Hitler."

A paper that understands its responsibility, in a country that knows it when it sees it. Impressive from Die Zeit. Refuses to show the salute, but calls it out for what it so obviously was. Headline: “A Hitler Salute is a Hitler Salute is a Hitler Salute”
A screenshot of the Die Zeit website. It is a photo of Musk in black and white doing the Hitler “seig heil” salute - but the actual salute is blocked out by blue material on the left hand side of the photo. The headline is underneath.
