I'm building Shallow Pond on my own and the full game takes time. BUT the Steam demo just got a big update. Lots has changed and improved, so check it out....ooor give it another shot if you already played 🙃 #retrogaming #3dplatformer #gamedev #cozygame

Shallow Pond demo update, new collectible types, new UI, lots of improvements. It all feels very rewarding and it's really feeling collect-a-thon now. And it's cute and such 😊 Let me know your thoughts! #gamedev #3dplatformer #retrogames #cozygame #familyentertainment

Get out there and let people play your game, naked as it is. I really didn’t see how important that was for Shallow Pond before gamescom. But what I got out of that experience can’t be weighted in gold. #gamedev #3dplatformer #solodev #cozygame

Soooo many things happening at the same time right now. Collectibles are finally properly displayed, makes such a big difference! Moving towards a much-improved version of the demo, which I'll be bringing to @polarisconvention.bsky.social in Hamburg next week. #gamedev #3dplatformer #retrogaming

Recently at gamescom 2026. Seeing so many people of all ages play Shallow Pond without knowing anything about it beforehand was eye-opening and really nice. Helped me understand my own game better, too. Pretty valuable as a solo dev. #gamedev #gaming #cozygame #retrogame

This is how every new Shallow Pond level starts. A blank playground. We all need to start somewhere, right? 🤓 Used to do a lot of greyboxing, but these days I mostly throw actual assets in and revise later. A bit like underpainting. #gamedev #retrogame #3dplatformer #cozygame

I don't know how many times I've seen Shallow Pond by now, or how many times I've played it myself. But I still love it, and I genuinely want to see it through and finish it with all my heart. Please bear with me 😊 #SteamDeck #solodev #3dplatformer #retrogame

How would you treat collectibles? As a gamer, as a dev? Asking for a friend 🙃 I’m leaning toward a simple system: the game tells you when you’ve found everything in a category. No collection-list madness. #gamedev #retrogame #3dplatformer #cozygame

Having that underwater space in Shallow Pond transforms the levels a lot. It's a bit like going hiking and suddenly stepping into a completely unexpected environment. Still can't get enough of this, especially on a handheld. #gamedev #steamdeck #retrogames #3dplatfomer

Recently at gamescom. It was sooo nice to see everyone stop, view the trailer, then play the game. Good decision to have two devices to play on, despite the small booth. Memories! Game's called Shallow Pond. #gamedev #solodev #3dplatformer

Retro all the way! Added Boost Jump to Shallow Pond: Double Jump + Dash, then jump right as you land to trigger it. Pushes you forward and slightly higher. Stomping near enemies now stuns them + more fixes and additions. Also in the demo! #retrogames #steamdeck #3dplatformer

Where do Shallow Pond’s retro vibes come from? Probably hardwired into me from the games I grew up with....trying to figure out what triggers it most Just love being in this kind of world, you know? Where we’re simply happily jumping around #retrogames #steamdeck #3dplatformer

I grew up with 3D platformers like Banjo-Kazooie, and I want to bring those retro vibes into Shallow Pond; so people who grew up with games like these and a new generation can enjoy them alike. What do you remember most about that era? #retrogames #steamdeck #3dplatformer

Recently at gamescom, I get it now. Shallow Pond is a family friendly game, loved to be played by kids and their parents. Especially ladies! Plus Banjo-Kazooie (etc) addicts. Still recharging my batteries. It was so nice and very intense! #gamedev #3dplatformer #cozygame
