Happy Halloween!! Look at this spooky bug monster I spent too much time designing.

a very complex bug dragon looking think that folds up into the shape of a treasure chest and its chest is covered in ticks that look like gold coins

closeup detail on the the mimic with its key hole shaped forehead eye and coin ticks more visible

folded chest form of the mimic. In this form it uses its key hole eye to scout for oncoming prey

by now I'm very used to posting pictures of bugs and getting "I hate this" as a reply, but I am specifically confused by the hatred I'm seeing for potato bugs of all things. this is a wingless cricket that lives in dirt and eats roots, what could he possibly do to disturb you besides exist

Stenopelmatini cricket is light orange with a white and brown striped abdomen, pictured walking on sand

It's phone camera quality, but I quite like it.

“A girl and her cat.” Ca. 1920. www.floridamemory.com/items/show/1...

Black and white photo of a brown skinned little girl with loosely curly hair sitting on a wooden porch, holding a shorthaired white cat in her lap. The girl has a grumpy expression and the cat is sitting on its "butt", sort of upright in a human-like sitting position.

happy valentine's day, friends! 💜 #shadowgast

digital fanart of Essek and Caleb from Critical Role. Essek is a drow with light purple skin and short white hair, dressed in an ensemble of a dark form-fitting shirt and trousers with silver embroidery; his torso is wrapped in a hishi karada, plain ropes tied in a repeated diamond pattern over his clothes. Caleb is a light-skinned human with chin-length red hair and a beard, wearing a simple white shirt, underarm holsters and dark pants.
they are lounging on a settee, looking at each other. Essek is sitting with his legs crossed, holding a glass of wine in his right hand; Caleb is leaning in to Essek, his left hand resting low on Essek's stomach, with the thumb sliding underneath and slightly tugging on the ropes leading down between Essek's legs.

One of my sneaky favorite shots from last year was of this pair of ants an inch apart in leaf litter; they look almost identical but are in fact two entirely different genuses! Left is a gate-keeper ant (Colobopsis), right is an acrobat ant (Crematogaster). 🌿 🐜🧪

Two reddish brown ants with black gasters in the same orientation in the brown oak leaf litter. The gate-keeper is lower left, the acrobat is upper right. Gaster on the acrobat is their characteristic "spade" ♠️ shape, the gate-keeper's is similar but more oblong. They otherwise appear nearly identical

Bluesky is officially “open” now (no more invites). So just a reminder to not engage with trolls and bad actors, there is no algorithm here to promote or spread them, replying to them is what puts them on everybody’s timelines. So block and give no oxygen.

Mainly a test to see if this will show on the feed, but Hi! I draw sometimes and am currently having fun making silly chibis and doodle sketches :D Currentlymonly these pics rn but I hope theyre cute (I hope the alt text is ok too) #art Tarmon and Jupiter belong to @lightweaverjove.bsky.social

Chibi Art of Tarmon, an oc of Lightweaver jove. Tarmon is a breton from the Elder scrolls. He has curly, ginger hair and its in a bun and styled to where two strangs hand down. He has freckles on pale skin, and a smiling and relaxed face. He is wearing a green robe/dress where there are two straps showing a hint of shoulder. The ridges of the overcoat are a dark golden color, while he heas red brooches on the collarpiece and waist belt. The waist belt has on brown straps and a rope like second strap that looks more copper colored and has two strings hangng down.

Sketchbook sketch of my OC's Org and Hart bust up.

Org is a disheveled and thin, lanky looking elf. Hart is a fat bumble bee humanoid with curly hair and fuzz all over her body.

Org is looking down at hart who looks up at him concerned.
The text he tells her reads "Ya know... You remind me of myself, and that scares me."
