My first five picks of the draft were rares/mythics.

@wotcmatt.bsky.social I know this isn't your job anymore, but I don't know whose it is—I'd appreciate if you would pass it along. In the CR, the glossary entry for Endure links to 702.62, which is Suspend. Endure is 701.63.

Went an incredibly clean 7-0 with this:

Went 7-2 with this beautiful, beautiful draft deck. I think I'll be chasing this high the rest of the format.

Realized I didn't include a link to my Killian Artisan deck. Oops! moxfield.com/decks/KAvs_g...

@wotcmatt.bsky.social I'm looking at a Gatherer ruling for Mutagen Connoisseur that I believe was invalidated with the introduction of transforming modal cards in Spiderman.

This deck is ALL about turning its wheels. If that's something you like, give it a go. Something else I really like about the deck is that it plays a number of old, obscure cards. I just picked up copies of Scavenged Weaponry and Hobble for it.

Tethmos High Priest and Dawn Evangel can get back our one and two-mana creatures. This includes the aforementioned Warehouse Tabby, Hateful Eidolon and Tragic Poet, as well as some utility creatures like Alseid of Life's Bounty and Cathar Commando and possibly even Killian himself.

Balemurk Leech will drain your opponents for 1, which isn't very impressive until we assemble the deck's actual combo, which uses the Tabby or Knight of Doves plus Screams from Within. Or, if you have a free sac outlet, Takklemaggot. Yes, Takklemaggot.

Mesa Enchantress, Ashiok's Reaper or Hateful Eidolon can convert this loop into card draw. Blightcaster can kill your opponents' creatures.

...or if you have Warehouse Tabby or Knight of Doves, you can enchant a token creature with one of the self-returning auras, sacrifice the token creature to a sac outlet, get a replacement token and the aura back to hand. Fallen Ideal can serve as both the sac outlet and as the aura that returns.

Most Killian aura decks will load up Killian with them and attack; for this deck the primary goal is to recur the auras. This can be done by returning them to hand with Essence Reliquary or Orzhov Charm or bringing them back from the graveyard with Crystal Chimes or Tragic Poet...

The core of the deck are auras that either draw a card when they enter or return to my hand when they go to the graveyard. Nearly all of them cost only one mana with Killian's ability.

I'm currently enamored with my newest Artisan (only commons and uncommons) Commander deck: a Killian, Ink Duelist build all about recurring creature Auras. See more in thread:

I saw @amytheamazonian.bsky.social post about Timberborn, thought it looked like a videogame I'd like, and so I went and bought it. Started playing Friday evening and stopped playing Saturday evening. I took breaks only to eat and use the bathroom. Incredible game. I might have a problem.

I was playing a game of Artisan Commander last night and I got the win with the Stalking Vengeance + Tooth and Claw combo in my Liara Portyr deck. Feels good, having a plan come together like that.

The deck draws a LOT of cards. In addition to Satoru, I've got some good card draw engines; They Came From the Pipes, Bident of Thassa, Glitch Interpreter, and Roshan, Hidden Magister. It's not unusual to draw more than half the deck over the course of a game.

Etrata, Deadly Fugitive is a big card in the deck and headlines an Assassin subtheme. I've got a handful of one mana 1/1 deathtouch Assassins. They're good for defense, and they make blocking my face-down creatures a less palatable prospect for my opponents.

When they come back face-up, that triggers Satoru too.

I landed on Manifest/Cloak—it's a cheap and reliable way to trigger Satoru and an avenue for cheating large creatures into play, then flickering or scamming them to turn them face up.

I want to share my favorite of the Commander decks I built in 2025: Satoru, the Infiltrator. This is another Half-Dollar Commander deck, meaning that all the cards had to be 50 cents or less when I added them to the deck, and once a card hits $1 I have to take it out...

The Avatar set has been pretty good to me. With the assistance of my friend Jordan in the last two, I've trophied in each of my six Arena drafts of the format.

Not a lot of opportunities to create designs that involve recurring things from the graveyard.

My white-green archetype was "non-human creatures and food". The official set doesn't have a full draft archetype around it, but there's "non-human" on a few cards here and there as well as food tokens.

Fun fact: flying dolphin fish don't appear in the original series. AFAIK their first appearance was in the Legend of Korra. But with a dearth of flying fauna to draw from...

What should the big black common creature of the set be? I guess there weren't a lot of options.

I'm pretty sure that at some point, my design for the fortune teller was one-for-one the official design. But I couldn't resist a reference to the fateseal mechanic; it was just too perfect.

Look, the screenshot cards mostly look pretty crappy. But this one—what a slam-dunk reprint for this set. I was staring at this for multiple minutes, thinking, "no way is this an existing Magic card." But it is!

I take issue with titling a card depicting Monk Gyatso's skeleton as "Tolls of War". As Aang pointed out in Book 3 Episode 2, the air nomads didn't have a military. The Fire Nation invaded and committed genocide.

TIL that they made retro colorless borders for some Innistrad Remastered cards. Bizarre!

Since those portions of 510.1c and 510.1d got removed, the citations to them in 702.2c (deathtouch) and in the definition of Lethal Damage in the Glossary are obsolete.

Lost a game of Commander last night to a Jaxis player who cast Molten Primordial and made a copy of it with Jaxis, stealing my Arcades & The Pride of Hull Clade, another player's Aurelia the Warleader & Tymna and dealt over 50 damage to me. It was awesome.

Unfortunately Teysa Karlov is approaching a dollar, so I have to take her out of my Half-Dollar Felisa deck. ☹️ Putting in Fell Gravship, though, and I think that'll be pretty cool. 😊 (not as strong as Teysa, of course, but still cool) moxfield.com/decks/rSrHLL...
