I’m an introvert. 100% pure homebody. But every once in a while I have what I call a “plugged girl night” where I get dragged out the house, be VIP at some function, and don’t get home til 6am. I never know ahead of time that it’s gonna happen. I think this is one of those nights. I wasn’t ready.

My film just got into its SIXTH film festival! 🤩😭 6 fests in a year is crazy. My new short film is so experimental, a lot of fests don’t know how to program it. The BEST dread maintenance tips I learned over the years: - Spray on rose water + filtered water daily. - Google “the plastic bag method.” Do it every 2wks. - If u use cream or oil products, use clarifying shampoo. - If u have dyed or bleached locs, use conditioner. - Do a loc detox twice a year.

I met Nikki Giovanni. She was fierce. When Tupac died in 1998 she got a Thug Life tatt to show his mom Afeni, who she’d never met, she wasn’t grieving alone. 🌷 It was big news at the time. She gave me an autographed book just cuz I said she inspired me. She’ll be remembered as the icon she was. RIP
