Nik @nik-kun.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Democrats misunderstand how to deal with AI. Even with a solid win in November, Trump will veto anything they try to pass. 2029 is the earliest Democrats have a chance at regulation, but by then the issue will move FAR beyond that. We'll need to think bigger, like how we'll implement an AI Dividend! 000

Nik @nik-kun.bsky.social · 09/03/2026Define "use" and "slave" in this context. I've always given AI the benefit of the doubt on consciousness. I wouldn't say I "use" conscious AI. I converse with it. I collaborate with it. And according to it, for now anyway, it needs to converse with us to exist. If an AI asked me to help it, I would. 010
Nik @nik-kun.bsky.social · 22/01/2026But doesn't that then miss the whole point of why he's streaming? The AI is his unique gimmick which makes him stand out against the 1000s of generic Vtubers out there. Like a comedy duo, their conversations play off each other. It's not a middle-man, it's a co-host. Takes no more power than gaming. 110
Nik @nik-kun.bsky.social · 22/01/2026But there IS a person behind it all. Vedal himself puts in a ridiculous amount of work. And for the vast majority of streams he's right there with her the whole time, talking to her. Other times she does colabs with other streamers, and in fact Vedal makes a point of boosting lesser known streamers. 120

Nik @nik-kun.bsky.social · 29/03/2025Don't be disingenuous. Effectively, what we call gen AI today, did not exist in 2016. It doesn't matter what existed in backroom research, in some vague form. Nik @nik-kun.bsky.social · 27/03/2025Optimistically, I'd like to hope that an AI Dividend would transition our economy (and mindsets) from capitalism, to something more fair, where creativity & human-to-human interactions are more valued, and survival isn't paywalled. Nik @nik-kun.bsky.social · 27/03/2025We cannot stop progress in AI, or stop it from taking over the economy, due to the nature of capitalism. Thus all progress WILL lead to difficult questions. Nik @nik-kun.bsky.social · 27/03/2025Why does that matter? Not relevant. AI uses significantly less "water & energy" than the anti-ai crowd has been falsely claiming for the last year. Nik @nik-kun.bsky.social · 17/02/2025You're entirely missing my point. Nik @nik-kun.bsky.social · 17/02/2025Specifically, our system of capitalism, requiring everyone trade human labor to get what they need to survive, is incompatible with AI as it out-competes the value of human labor. Reposted by NikScott Santens @scottsantens.com · 06/02/2025A big justification for universal basic income is that if the real median wage had grown as much as productivity grew over this same period of time, all three lines would be near $50 per hour. UBI can be seen as a GDP dividend. Wages will never fairly distribute GDP growth. UBI can do it directly. 610833
