13. They gave me the right mini fig, but the wrong accessories. I ordered a coffee mug and a hammer. Instead they sent a lightsaber and what looks like an ax. He said he's gonna pretend it's a spliff with an extra long cherry lol 🤦🏽‍♀️

We had nosebleed seats, but it was still a great view and a great time. And top it all off, @iamguillermo came out in an ice cream suit, handed two audience members two soft serves, and at the end everyone in the audience got Guillermo's new salsa @guillermos . What a great night!

The blending of art, life, the human experience and spirituality in all the work was absolutely amazing! I'm really excited to learn more about all of the artists, classic and modern, and seeing more of their work. #art #artislife #abstract #modernism #occult

Never been to the opera before? Now’s your chance. We’re giving away 70,000 free tickets to the @metopera at the iconic Lincoln Center. Go to on.nyc.gov/opera to enter the lottery. There’s not a bad seat in the house.

Inspiration and motivation continues to flow thanks to Black Theatre United's event The Business of Show: Inside the Casting Process Part II, moderated by casting director Erica Hart. On the panel were casting director Sujotta Pace, director Tiffany Nichole Greene, and actress Michelle Wilson.

This past weekend was the @blackfilmspace @bfsweekend festival, which was a weekend of screenings, panels, workshops, and #networking . I was only able to go to Day 2, but I made some really great #connections the time that I was there. I'm looking forward to next year.

It was incredible. It was informative. It was inspiring and motivating. And I'm glad I got the chance to be in the room with #broadway #legends Lillias White, Lynn Nottage, Adriane Lenox, Queen Jean, and Marcus Paul James. They each dropped some powerful gems about art and the industry.

Last Saturday, Greg and I went to a matinee of IN HONOR OF JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT, created and performed by Roger Guenveur Smith (You've seen him in everything from DO THE RIGHT THING to PANTHER to MALCOLM X to GET ON THE BUS, etc), with sound design by Marc Anthony Thompson.

Check out this exhibit. It goes until November 7th. The pictures in this video don't do the work justice. You have to see the layers and the textures up close in person to truly get and understand just how breathtaking this work is. #ripdannysimmons

Ngozi Anyanwu is a playwright of the ages and for the ages. And every actor that brought her words to life themselves immortalized their essence through their talent and gravitas. Kara Young, as the eponymous Goddess of Victory, Adenike/Nike, had everyone on the edge of their seats.

#SoulSoiree has done it again! Last week, I witnessed an epic story that yes, it NEEDS to-Yes, it MUST-and Yes, it WILL be made. The blending of African&European religion to tell an epic story of Victory incarnate, and getting back to one's self was in itself a glorious journey to be a witness to.
