Patcon today! Here’s my two entries. -The Fukuoka Nu Gundam I intentionally didn’t put extra accessories on because I wanted it to match the actual statue & posed it based it off my photos. It’s in the straight build Gunpla category. -The Liger Zero Panzer is in the anime mecha non-Gundam category

Finally found something I wanted to put this sticker I’ve had for a long time. It’s definitely a relic from a past era of anime fandom in the US. I think I got it at one Otakon in the early 00s.

I’m not sure if I’m ready to read the finale. This has been a hell of a ride. It doesn’t replace Origin as my favorite Gundam manga, but it’s an extremely close second. I’ve got some great memories with friends associated with this work.

I was talking to some friends about Satoshi Kon and Paprika yesterday so I decided to double check the release date. Turns out Sept. 2 is the 20th anniversary of it premiering at Venice. I think got a rewatch in my future. (Nov 25 is when it hit theaters in Japan) It does not feel that old.

Ok, finally finished a build for the first time in awhile. Clear orange Haropla I grabbed at the Gundam Base pop up last week. I did use a metallic red marker for the eyes, but otherwise it was a quick snap build. And there’s been some progress MG Barbatos Lupus too.

(1/2) I bought the English version of the Art of Samurai Champloo book at a con a bunch of years ago because a vendor was offloading stock for cheap (probably $20-$25?) Two weeks ago I saw a vendor at Otakon selling one for $500 and it was gone by the end of the weekend. (cont.)

New Gundam series visuals have me intrigued. Bottom left looks like a Strike head and shoulders on an Aerial torso meant to have eyes and both like Gurren Lagann. The other Gundam I’m very curious about the different arm

After way too much time away, finally got back to the MG Barbatos Lupus build. Snipped, filed, and panel lined all the pieces for the head including the effect parts, but stopped assembly to let the eyes I painted dry because holy crap do I not want to mess this two tone effect up.

Change of plans. This expansion kit arrived yesterday and I’ve been holding off on the MG Barbatos Lupus despite it being my favorite IBO design in my favorite grade. My partner got me the main kit as a birthday gift at the start of February and it’s been so hard not to start building it.

The dark colors and pointed parts make it hard to capture some details without turning on my camera’s flash to wash out the pic. As I was building it, the head reminded me of the gatekeeper droid from RotJ.

Completed wings with the messed up one. Painted ones are a bit deeper in color than the original piece, but I like the richer color and it was a good chance to play with airbrushing clear paints a little more.

This runner started clear then I airbrushed a layer of clear pink. (Left side) I did a very light coat of clear purple (right side) which brought out details of the wings a bit more.
