Date yourself with a snap of your first ever computer
Photograph of a Sinclair ZX81 home computer from the very early 1980s (well, 1981 to be precise). A small black contoured plastic case with the text "Sinclair" embossed at the top in black, and "ZX81" embossed half way down in red. The keyboard is a very simple membrane affair. There is a "Memopak 16K" 16 kilobyte memory expansion plugged into the back of the computer, but that came long after I first bought the computer (I had to make do with the ridiculous 1 kilobyte of memory until then!)
The computer is sat on a small wooden table

I think XKCD summed it up quite well in xkcd.com/2030/
A comic in 5 panels, featuring stick-people
Panel 1 (titled "Asking aircraft designers about airplane safety"). A woman is interviewing a woman and a man. The woman being interviewed says "Nothing is ever foolproof, but modern airliners are incredibly resilient. Flying is the safest way to travel"
Panel 2 (titled "Asking building engineers about elevator safety"). A man is interviewing another man who says "Elevators are protected by multiple tried-and-tested failsafe mechanisms. They're nearly incapable of falling"
Panel 3 (titled "Asking software engineers about computerized voting"). A woman is interviewing a woman and a man. The woman being interviewed says "That's terrifying"
Panel 4. Same scene as panel 3, with dialogue as follows:
Interviewer: "Wait, really?"
Woman: "Don't trust voting software and don't listen to anyone who tells you it's safe"
Interviewer: "Why?"
Woman: "I don't quite know how to put this, but our entire field is bad at what we do, and if you rely on us, everyone will die"
Panel 5 continues the dialogue from panel 4 as follows:
Interviewer: "They say they've fixed it with something called 'blockchain'"
Woman: (screams)
Man: "Whatever they sold you, don't touch it"
Woman: "Bury it in the desert"
Man: "Wear gloves"

"Downing Street cat mouse-hunt"

Evidence of the #eclipse on Kate Morley's UK power generation stats page grid.iamkate.com. The yellow line is solar generation, which drops and then pops back up again during the period of the eclipse
A graph showing various forms of electricity generation in the UK for the past 24 hours. A yellow line shows the solar generation, which shows a drop at the time of the partial solar eclipse, then goes back up again for a little while, before dropping off again as the sun sets

The last few partial eclipses I've seen here, I've watched from the drive. Being aware that the sun would be very close to disappearing behind the big hill near my house at the maximum point of the #eclipse, I decided to get to the top of the hill instead. Many other people chose to do that too! 😎
A partial eclipse of the sun. Most of the sun covered by the moon, leaving just a thin reddish sliver of a crescentA collection of people in separate groups, some stood, some sat at the top of a grassy hill, facing toward the sun. The light is quite subdued and the shadows are longA man and a woman stood at the top of a grassy hill. The woman is holding a colander, which is projecting many small images of a partial solar eclipse onto a piece of white card (or paper) which the man is holding

"Location Location Location: Eyam"
A green plaque fastened to the wall of a house. In large text at the top it reads "West End Cottage". Underneath, it reads "The cottage was built in 1553 and the following victims of the plague died here." It then lists 9 names, all with the same surname (Willson) and the dates of their deaths (from December 22 1665 to September 10 1666)

"What's paninis's, hobbits?"
Still image of a scene from one of the Lord of the Rings films. Samwise (a hobbit) is facing slightly off-camera and speaking. The scene is where he says "Po-ta-toes" to Gollum. A caption at the bottom of the image says "Pa-ni-ni"

4-panel Anakin & Padme meme. The two characters are Anakin Skywalker (a young man) and Padme Amadala (a young woman). In the first panel, Anakin is saying "I like this design. Make it look exactly like this". In the second panel, Padme (looking happy) says "You know this is just a sharpie sketch, right? You'll want it doing properly, yeah?". In the third panel, Anakin is staring moodily. In the fourth panel, Padme looks worried

Does this help? I can print it off and send it to them if they like. They'll need their own frame though
A venn diagram with two overlapping circles. The first circle has "Rooms 201-218" in it with a label of an arrow pointing to the left. The second circle contains the text "Rooms 306-443" with a label of an arrow pointing to the right. In the intersection of the two circles is the text "Rooms 219 - 305"

An image from a Burger King logo generator. Instead of words in rounded red text inside a bun, the Wordle results are inside the bun instead. There are three rows of results depicted using coloured squares. In the first row, there is one correct letter in the wrong position. In the second row, the first letter is correct, and there is still one other correct letter in the wrong position. In the final row, all the correct letters are in the correct position, showing that the word has been found. Underneath is the text "Wordle 1,784 3/6*", meaning that this is the 1,784th Wordle round, and that the correct word was discovered in 3 attempt out of a maximum of 6 allowed attempts.

I can't help feeling it would be a much easier property to sell if there was actually a way to get into Bedroom Three 🤔
Floor plan of a house for sale. There are many, many rooms. Of interest is "Bedroom Three" at the bottom-left corner of the ground floor, which has no discernible doorway

Listening to In Our Time on #BBCRadio4 discussing Escher, and I'm reminded of this classic from the New Yorker
A comic from the New Yorker. On a skyscraper construction, steel beams are connecting in ways which defy logic. An angry-looking man (presumably a foreman or some such) is leaning over the edge and shouting "Escher! Get your ass up here"

A parody of the cover of the 1980 self-titled debut album by Visage. Where there were people on the original album cover, here they are are replaced by drawings of rabbits. In the foreground, a male and female rabbit dance. Behind them are the silhouetted figures of three other rabbits who are in a band
