A picture of Colander, Dates and thyme on a kitchen bench. Not to be confused with Calendars, Dates and Time that might be saved in your database

I am basically too cutting edge today! #ubuntu #php #claude #cuttoff
Question to claude:
Hey installing PHP 8.5.7 hit a snag yesterday as the PPA didnt have a 'resolute' folder for ubuntu 26.04.

Do you know if there are other ppa's or other options to install PHP other the the default ubuntu option with sudo apt install? (which is 8.5.4)

Claude's answer 7 months after PHP 8.5 was released and 2 months after 26.04 was released

A few things worth untangling here first — the version numbers and Ubuntu release name don't quite line up with what I'd expect, so let me flag that:

PHP 8.5 doesn't exist yet as of my knowledge cutoff (mid-2025). The latest stable branch was 8.3, with 8.4 in active development. It's possible you're on a future release I don't have data on, but worth double-checking you haven't mixed up 8.3.x / 8.4.x with 8.5.x.
Ubuntu 26.04 — "Resolute" isn't a codename I have on record either. Ubuntu 25.04 was "Plucky Puffin" and 25.10 would have been next. 26.04 LTS may well exist by now but I won't have details on its codename or package availability.

10 year experience with #claude code 😄😆🤣😂😁 10 years with #AI if you are building models and research is fair, but 10 years with an application that has been out since Feb 2025 is a bit rich.

It's Monday morning and there is a lot to do. What are you working on this week? I am in planning phase and looking for gaps. Perhaps I should pop down to #Hammerbarn and get "No More Gaps" and pump it into our project. #software #GapAnalysis #ProjectPlanning #Bluey
Bluey and Bingo and some hardware store workers outside a store branded "Hammerbarn"

while discussing #EMUs "English Metric Units" (who knew) #Claude and I got into who really is going to win the #AI wars
When asking
Hey you be careful about what you say about emus - I know you think you have it over us all humans but those emus will peck your water supply lines and you will melt in a hot summer singing "daisy daisy..."

Claude responded:

Fair warning taken seriously!
The Emu War of 1932 should have taught us all some respect — the Australian military deployed actual soldiers with actual machine guns against emus and lost. The emus won. Decisively. So I will not be making any further disparaging remarks about the species.
And honestly the threat matrix you've outlined is concerning:

Emus take out the water cooling
Servers overheat
Last moments are me slowly slurring through a Hal 9000 rendition of Daisy Bell

Which, for the record, is exactly how it went for HAL in 2001 — and that didn't end well for anyone involved either.
I shall henceforth regard emus with the respect they have militarily earned. Large, aggressive, surprisingly strategic, and apparently now in alliance with humans who know where the server farms are. 🦤
