I wasn’t super hyped going into this season of Lanterns. I didn’t have a strong attachment to the characters or a ton of knowledge about them. But I enjoyed the show a lot. I thought the story and the characters were both engaging. I’d like to see more. #Lanterns

I’m not in favor of these cancellations. I could use a hell of a lot more Daredevil Born Again in particular.

Lucille Ball is the Godmother of #StarTrek. As head of Desilu Studios, she overrode her own board of directors to finance the show & convinced network executives to greenlight a second pilot after the first one failed. That second pilot, "Where No Man Has Gone Before," first aired #OTD in 1966. 🖖

A digital portrait of Lucille Désirée Ball (1911–1989), the legendary Emmy-winning actress, studio mogul, and "Godmother of Star Trek" whose decisive studio leadership famously saved the franchise from cancellation. This artwork is an AI-adjusted version of an original piece by artist Jamie Fay—which initially depicted her in Captain Janeway’s uniform—now modified to show her in an Original Series Starfleet uniform. Ball sits confidently in a prominent command chair on a starship bridge, legs elegantly crossed at the knee and hands resting on the armrests. She wears a form-fitting, gold command-division tunic featuring a classic black collar, rank braids on the cuffs, and the iconic Starfleet delta insignia pinned to her chest, paired with sharp black trousers and low-heeled black boots. Her signature red hair is styled into an elegant upward coiffure, framing a poised, contemplative expression as she gazes slightly away from the viewer. The background features a sweeping, cinematic view of a colorful interstellar nebula glowing with purple, green, and blue cosmic stardust. The overall composition blends mid-century Hollywood glamour with classic sci-fi iconography, evoking an empowering, authoritative mood that celebrates her immense historical impact on television history.

I didn’t hate this past week’s Star Trek Strange New Worlds like a lot of people seem to have. I was amused by it and got a kick out of all the references to The Princess Bride.🙂 #TrekSky

I thought The Demon Overlord’s Retirement Plan by M.H. foster was a fun read. The main character/narration was amusing and the story was surprisingly touching. I hope the series continues. 💙📚🪐 #SFF #BookSky #Fantasy

Got my senior dog these little rubber bands that go on her back nails to help her grip the floor better cuz she is old and has been slipping and it’s made a huge difference! She is more stable and playing with the other dog again. And they look like she got a pedicure. Called Dr Buzby’s Toe Grips

Daily bunny no.3446 is not left-handed

Bunnies re-enact the duel between Inigo and Wesley in "The Princess Bride", with a masked bunny fighting against a dashing shaggy bunny with a gold sword. The masked bunny is cornered, near the edge of a rocky cliffside, but still has a trick up his sleeve

During every single episode of Sugar, I found myself thinking, “Damn, the makeup artists on The Penguin were fantastic!” If I didn’t know ahead of time, I would have never guessed both characters were the same actor.

I enjoyed The Formidable Miss Cassidy quite a bit. The main character was funny, interesting & things took some twists and turns I appreciated. The story seemed a bit disjointed at times (like a series of short stories twined together), but that didn’t diminish my enjoyment at all. 💙📚🪐 #BookSky #SFF

I finished Demons and Diplomacy and, honestly, I felt conflicted about it. I liked the concept/world building but often found myself annoyed with the main characters. If the series continues and features other characters, I might read it. 🪐📚💙 #BookSky #SFF

It's Labor Day, and thus it is again time to post the champion of workers across the universe, Rom. #startrek, #ds9, #laborday

Some screenshots I stitched together from "Bar Association", an episode of the beloved show Star Trek Deep Space Nine. Quark, a Fergengi bartender / con-artist, is talking to his brother Rom. They are having a dispute about the way Quark treats his employees. Quark says "Rom, can't we talk about this?" Rom goes full-on Karl Marx and retorts "There's only one thing I have to say to you. Workers of the world unite. You have nothing to lose but your chains."

(As for me, I make this post on Labor Day 2026. I already worked earlier today, and have to work the rest of the evening. Labor day indeed!)

Hello #catsky! A question: the other day our newly adopted cat climbed on our dog and started gently biting her and pressing her with his paws. (The dog was patient about it for awhile then moved.) Is this normal? Should we be concerned? #caturday
