Are you using AI to write? Guess what, you aren't actually writing!

The side project that kick started my research is in the world - Soviet Lithuania, petitioning, Catholics, legitimacy! Not to have a favorite child…. But editing this was a lot easier than the dissertation (though I love them both equally) brill.com/view/journal...

Gave a guest lecture on Asia's Worried, sorry, World City, in @nicolerharry.bsky.social's Europe and the World class and it was really a labour of love for one of my favourite cities in the world. Covering the Opium Wars in just under thirty seconds might have been my best pedagogical feat to date.
A photograph taken by yours truly of Hong Kong overlooking Victoria Harbour as seen from Kowloon with "Asia's World City: The Sun Sets on the British Empire" overlayed.

Wrapping up the 2025 @aseees.bsky.social virtual convention, after another great year we’ve even convinced my cat to be interested in the field! (Look for him to be presenting next year)

Imagine having the confidence of this author that Neolithic Lithuanians worshipped the female Moose of All Moose

Excited to share my short piece on Soviet Lithuanian priests studying at the Vatican and their role in religious and diplomatic policy of the early 1960s! Thank you to @peripheralhist.bsky.social as well for the platform to do so. t.co/OOUz7xtn6U

Brought a new stack of books home from the library and my partner innocently asked why I was “still reading things” since I’m writing my dis now….. how do I tell him the reading never ends?

Trying to convince myself that the amount of cat hair in my keyboard is actually somehow beneficial to dissertation writing (and not evidence of petting cats and not typing)

An important reward in the writing process is letting myself scroll up and down (and up and down and up and down and) through a completed chapter, as a treat.
