Also, increase in brain fog. Which directly leads to increased need for cognitive impairment accessibility on the web, and everywhere.

Spending $1,500 on vet at a routine visit wasn’t on my weekend’s bingo card and yet here we are. Whether or not the lump is malignant, it probably needs to come out. 10+ YO isn’t a great age for surgery for my service dog 😱
Close up portrait of a big black dog’s head cuddling up on my leg. His chin hair is getting white.

Looking for recommendations. I have too many peripherals and things are a mess! I'd love a hub where I can plug in, say, 10 different USB-C cables. I don't use all the items at once, so power isn't a super issue. And I'm not too worried about data transfer speeds. Does such a thing exist? Where?

Stunning! I've only ever seen one of those. I think it got blown out from a storm because it was about 300 Km inland on a large lake. It was far - Never could make out such detail. The eye is intense!

This Great blue heron is walking on water. Frozen water, that is. And I wish him luck fishing through the thin layer of ice. He was full of confidence though. #BirdPhotography #Birds #Photography #Wildlife #Canon
A great blue heron viewed from the site. He's standing on water. There are a few branches and grasses sticking out of the water. He's lit by the warm light of the setting sun.

And once more someone in the neighborhood is accusing everyone with a large dog to have let their dog poop on their front lawn. Turns out, neighbor across the street has a Ring doorbell. Plot twist: It’s a coyote. He obviously can’t read the signs “No dog poop on grass”. 🤦‍♂️😱🤪

Belted kingfisher. They always seem like they are upset at something. This one kept going into the Fraser River and not catching anything! #BirdPhotography #Birds #Photography #Wildlife #Canon
A kingfisher on top of an old wood pile that is capped with old aluminum. The sky is uniformly grey behind it.

A long time ago, a colleague in a staff meeting pointed out that some sounds were very distracting. Even the sound of a soda can being put back on the table was problematic. Since then, I put a tissue on the table so my drinks don't make too much sound. Helps for remote calls as well! #inclusion

Much noise resulted when this Great Blue Heron that I was tracking flew over a Canadian Goose nest. The heron CROAKED. The Goose SHRIEKED. I hadn't noticed the Goose there 'till that happened 🤣 #BirdPhotography #Birds #Photography #Wildlife #Canon
A great blue heron in flight, viewed from the back. He's flying low over frozen waters and a bit of land with long dead grasses. A Canadian goose is partially hidden by the grasses. We can see one wing spread high and wide and her head.

I caught this coyote out of the corner of my eye as I was driving on an errand. Luckily, there was a place to stop and I had my camera. And the coyote was kind enough to wait for me to take its photo before turning around and taking off :) #Wildlife #Photography #Canon
A coyote standing up and facing the camera. Its fur blends into the yellow grasses.

A blue Tesla Model 3 has been crushed by an Olmec statue. A man with long black braids leans against the hood of the car with his arms crossed, staring down the camera.

Black-capped chickadee. I really do love these wee ones. This one was flitting to and fro, in a light drizzle. #BirdPhotography #Birds #Photography #Wildlife #Canon
A Black-capped chickadee standing sideways on a thin upright branch. You can see his black cap really well, with the wide white wedge starting at the beak and going to the back of the head. Very fetching :)

Not at all. It was a genuine question out of curiosity. I’ve been pondering street photography. I know in many places it’s legal to photograph people and post their photos. But I’m struggling with how ethical (or not) I would feel if I did it. Hence asking street photographers their take.

Best I could do photographing the moon tonight. I thought I might have a chance. Took the dog out for his walk and there was a brief break in the clouds. Not to be after all. Cloud *and* fog! I took this one on my phone 🤣🤣🤣 #Moon #LunarEclipse #Photography
The tip of two evergreen trees in the foreground. The moon was in the sky between the tip of those two trees. But so much cloud cover that the moon couldn’t be seen.

Soooo, it stopped raining. It started SNOWING!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I won't be going out to take photos of the lunar eclipse tonight. I'd use swear words but that wouldn't be fit for social media consumption. 😱🤣🤦‍♂️
Snow falling in large flakes. some evergreens visible in the foreground. The mountain that you can typically see in the background is simply gone.

Amber alerts - they matter. But let us turn them off! Can't do anything about it when I'm home in the mountain, WFH. My 80-something YO dad can't do anything about it from his assisted living facility. Worse when it's middle of the night - wake me with a startle, gimme a migraine for days.

Landlords have a long term visitor upstairs. Who doesn't know how not to walk like an elephant trying to trample a lion. It's been NOISY. Crossed path with her as she was going on a walk. Radio on loud, no headphones. Geesh - no care for others.

I don't like my chances of seeing the lunar eclipse tonight. Gear is ready, spot has been selected (Bortle 3!) It's pissing with rain now. Even had hail. Better luck next year! #Photography #Moon #LunarEclipse
Screenshot from a weather app showing a 40% to 70% chance of rain between 8pm and 2am, with temperatures ranging from 4C to 2C.Dark clouds over a mountain range. Some evergreens and a power pole in the foreground. The photo is a color photo but everything is grey and hazy.
