Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 25/09/2026It's been a while since I've posted much of anything, so here are the different stages of my current experiment, inspired by Edward Zajec's “Ram 5” (1969). 160
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 13/09/2026Thanks, it's an old project/program, I'm trying to figure out how it computes this kind of iteration 😅. 000
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 02/09/2026Here is the second and final stage of my bike ride around Puy de Sancy (today on the eastern side). I hope these landscapes will remain just as beautiful and wild. 000
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 02/09/2026The first stage of my trip around Puy de Sancy, the beauty of the scenery makes the strenuous climbs well worth the effort. 020
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 27/08/2026Almost ready to go back and see those extinct volcanoes 020
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 07/08/2026Someone told me to subdivide the grid at the beginning of each new cycle. 1101

Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 20/07/2026Thank you, it's a fairly common algorithm for creating glitch effects (I've seen it used before to create TV show opening sequences). I'm interested in it because it analyzes the image as a whole while profoundly altering it. 010
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 05/07/2026My program uses an image of a canyon and sorts the pixels based on their brightness. It does this using a grid, which slows down the process, but once the pixels are sorted, the image becomes a simple gradient. 010
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 05/07/2026Yes, this is a great inspiration. I thought the cover was created using a program that draws random lines to produce this relief effect, but in fact its original title is "100 Consecutive Pulses from the Pulsar CP 1919," and it comes from an astronomy encyclopedia, it's the first known pulsar 210
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 04/07/2026Thanks, this is an old program that I just modified; I feel like my projects are never finished and keep evolving even after they're exhibited. 000
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 03/07/2026A combination of a random modular grid and pixel sorting; the image used is an aerial view taken by satellite. 160

Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 04/04/2026I'm not sure about the soul, but yes, we're both trying to give concrete form to abstract concepts, to experiment with (presumably to understand them) theories about rhythm and harmony. 010
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 04/04/2026It’s very interesting; I don’t know if I’ll do anything with it: my knowledge of electronics is very limited, but I’d love to reuse the principle. 110
Nicolas Lebrun @nicolas-lebrun.fr · 04/04/2026I really like the idea of bringing techno to life; it’s fascinating to make concepts like sequencers, oscillators, and modulators visible. @julienv3ga.bsky.social did something similar with his DiceGL project, he makes randomness physical. www.v3ga.net/dicegl/.v3ga.netDiceGL — v3ga — Julien Gachadoat 110
