Refactoring is harder than adding behaviour due to entropy. Refactoring is fighting entropy, while writing code adds it.

*AI-generated email response in the style of "you're absolutely right!"* Me: I have no time for this shit. You're missing the point. Wish you the best, but I doubt you'll have any business like this. *Mark email as spam* 🗑️ 🙃

*Receives an AI-generated email to look into a tool for working with legacy code* Me: Thanks for reaching out. My first feedback is that your website is very obviously vibe-coded. Hard to understand what your tool does, there's so much noise… Happy to help if you tune down the AI 🙂

LLMs are tools, not people. This means they are not authors either. They are not the author of your git commits, you are. It’s good to disclose if you used an LLM to make edits, but the commit author field is not the right place. That’s just a weird place to put an ad for the tool.

I have yet to try out github.com/hardikpandya... and see if it can rephrase PR descriptions and comments But we had an interesting conversation with coworkers based on sophiebits.com/2026/06/25/t... Turns out it's not "just me, being a non-native speaker". It just generates so much text.

That would remove the noise while preserving the load-bearing contributions — measured, not guessed. Would you like me to write the `auto-close-ai-pr.mjs` script next? (ah, someone tells me the "reply like Claude" joke was made 6… no 7 times already)

Playing around with an idea: responsive code. The build script creates up to 5 versions of each code sample using Prettier, and a container query displays the right one. Brotli means the filesize overhead is very small. Live demo: jakearchibald.com/2026/css-cus...

❌🛢️ unbarrelify v1.1.4 is out Fully automated cleanup: unbarrelify rewrites consumers to import directly from source, then deletes the barrel files. Why? Read more at github.com/webpro-nl/un... Trust me, you don't want to do this by hand and your agent will screw up and bill you nonetheless. 👇

I believe that highly standardised codebases will make working with AI better for a variety of reasons. In previous blog posts I showed how strong conventions make deterministic enforcement easier, down to a granular level. Those conventions can also make extracting architecture from code easier.
github pr comment added by an action showing changed subdomains and entrypoints in the PR, generated directly from the code without any LLMsSecond part of the comment showing changes in the domain layer. A new aggregate was added containing and entity and 2 mtethods

🪩 Sep 25th at 1PM: [ONLINE] "The pizza party of the future -... Are we moving toward one-pizza-slice teams? 🍕 Explore how coding agents change team roles and responsibility. Katie Clark & Simon Rohrer discuss AI-human collaboration. 🤖 Check it out 👉 guild.host/e-ee2xgn

[ONLINE] "The pizza party of the future - software teams and product value in the age of coding agents"
This is a special event where Katie Clark & Simon Rohrer will talk about the impact of AI on team organizations. 💬 Abstract AI will have a huge impact on our software development teams - nobody is sure how exactly, and Simon and Katie don’t have the perfect prediction either! This is not the first time the way we approach software teams has changed: we’ve gone from silos and super specialization to cross-functional Scrum teams and 2-pizza teams; from T-shaped and M-shaped professionals to full-stack, full-lifecycle, DevSecFin…Ops, value streams, Team Topologies and more. We’ve added all kinds of coaches and then removed them again. Now that these teams have AI coding agents doing the typing we are seeing “new” (or maybe not so new?) bottlenecks: value questions (domain/product/requirements) and trust questions (quality/testing/reliability/architecture/process). And we’re seeing suggestions from moving down to one-pizza-teams or even just a product owner and their AI wrangler (a one pizza slice team?) So who is invited to the pizza party of the future? Who makes decisions, who takes responsibility, what new and old roles and skills will be needed? And who is no longer welcome? We’ll take a look at what some of the friendlier agile critics from the past can tell us. We will see how their takes can help us move to a more value-oriented future with agents and humans collaborating on user needs. This session is for… Anyone like us who is trying to make sense of what this AI and agentic coding stuff is going to change about how we work and organize Anyone who wants to learn from the past and avoid making the same mistakes generations before us have made – but now with added LLMs Anyone who needs to make decisions about team setup, staffing, upskilling and training, or hiring and recruiting **🤠 About Katie

Stop hunting for app ideas. Start from friction. The best first tool (or agent skill) to build isn't something you invent. It's a problem you already have, done manually, repeatedly (and wish you didn't).

I switched from VS Code to Zed a few months ago. VS Code was constantly eating my memory with random processes that wouldn't stop. Pretty happy with the editor. Still missing a few things, but progressively tuning it to my usage 💅
