The House of Commons Library published a briefing on tuition fees today, which included this OECD graph. I think most people don't realise how high UK fees are internationally. #iTeachChem commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-bri...
OECD data on national tuition fee levels presented as a bar chart in dollars. England's annual fee of 13100 is the highest, with the US level of 9600 coming in second and Japan third at 5600.

Left unamended, the Employment Rights Bill (which gives guaranteed hours to a qualifying ZHC worker after the end of every reference period) would pretty much destroy the ability of universities to have PGRs doing teaching

Yes indeed. Redundancies and course curs sweeping through the sector in anticipation of the caps. The VCs jumped the gun. It appears 'never waste a crisis' was the driving factor. Will these job losses and cuts be reversed?
