Every intermediate form between a bikini bottom and a thong is basically a stylised wedgie.

I just read the Epstein birthday book. It's dismal sexual exploitation, dressed up as NY power porn. Everyone in the book should be in prison, or at least engulfed in an avalanche of very public shame. Publish every name. Publish them now.

"Your story can't fail the Bechdel Test if it's only got one female character" in front of a so-stupid-it's-smart meme background.

It's a bit mad that QAnon's mad account of the Epstein files appears more credible than the one now being offered by the President. To be honest, the latter feels more like something a third rate improv troupe might attempt.

Good morning
Yuri Knorozov, who deciphered the Maya cript in 1952, credited his cat Asya as a co-author—though editors always removed her. He used a photo with Asya as his author portrait and got upset whenever she was cropped out.

I remember visiting Activision/Mediagenic in Southampton one morning: some developers were in with their BBC Micros Econetted together. One guy asleep at his keyboard woke up and groggily turned to us (me and Peter Sleeman?) with all the key caps imprinted across his face. It was not a good look. 😬

The #1 reason for chaining simpler regexes is to get them all through code review without major incident.

Nick Pelling @nickpelling.bsky.social · 27/08/2025
Most regexes really aren't the cryptic footguns some people like to paint them as. But beyond a certain level of complexity, you won't find a lot of love for them, I'm afraid. 😬

These days, I tend to chain together simpler regexes, to avoid going completely demented trying to read them back. 😬 That said, here's a link to an IPv4 regex I posted on Stack Overflow last year (and have used several times since): stackoverflow.com/questions/11...

Using a RegEx to match IP addresses
I'm trying to make a test for checking whether a sys.argv input matches the RegEx for an IP address... As a simple test, I have the following... import re pat = re.compile("\d{1,3}.\d{1,3}.\d{1,...

Of course! These even included a beefed-up Acorn Atom running Elite. I also got to play Aardvark Atom Galaxians on real hardware for the first time in decades. 😁 ...though I should note that the nice guy behind the exhibition (Paul) is staunchly in the Z80 camp, but don't hold that against him. 😸

I had a really nice time at the Archive of Retro Computing at Kingston University, which was like my loft but with helpful labels. And machines that actually turn on. The exhibition is on until this Thursday, catch it if you can! Recommended!
