The bar isn't grey it's translucent. It's perfectly legible on a white background (also in both cases these are the default colors provided by the framework, so that's still a Liquid Glass issue)
A navigation bar with icons for Home, Trending, Search, and Profile, this time on a white background.

I'm not convinced that iOS 27 has solved the legibility problems
A navigation bar with icons for Home, Trending, Search and Profile. The selected Trending tab's icon and text are barely readable over the background content

I don't understand this product line
A green tractor is shown next to a protractor, with text below labeling them "Tractor: $700,000" and "Pro Tractor: $1.99".

"AI makes people lose their critical thinking skills" This is 100% true. For example folks keep reposting this burrito image as an example of how terrible AI slop is, seemingly without considering that the image is not a real photo of a real ad and was most likely created as a joke about AI slop 🙄

Funny how the bank _loves_ interest when I owe them money, but when they have to pay _me_ interest then suddenly it's "gross" 🙄 smh

Once Apple offered iPhone owners a single button that they could click to block surveillance, 96 percent of iPhone owners clicked it. Presumably, surveillance, the other 4 percent were drunk, or Facebook employees, or drunk Facebook employees.

Apple: *Provides Swift-friendly wrapper for an NSException-throwing API* Also Apple: *Forgets to actually catch the exception and convert it to an Error*
Screenshot of an Xcode crash. The crash was due to an unhandled NSInvalidArgumentException in +[NSTask run] (task already launched), which in Swift is presented as a throwing API on Process

class Foo {
    static func foo(bar: Int) -> Int { bar + 5 }

    class Bar {
        static func foo(baz: Int) -> Int { baz }

        static func bar() {
            print(foo(bar:)(5)) // prints 10

            print(foo(bar: 5)) // Error: Incorrect argument label in call (have 'bar:', expected 'baz:')
        }
    }

I've been writing code in Swift daily for 10 years and I still keep finding out that my mental model of how basic things work is completely wrong. Take this example - I would have sworn that Swift would find and call the outer, Int-returning version of foo() here - but nope!
    static func foo() -> Int { 5 }

    class Bar {
        static func foo(bar: Int) -> String { "Hello" }

        static func bar() {
            print(foo()) // Error: missing argument for parameter 'bar' in call
        }
    }
}
