NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 16/10/2026As someone who's been buzzing their head every 1-2 weeks for the last 15 years... you probably want larger clippers. 🤣 Remington makes a model designed for guys who buzz their head at home often. Definitely recommend. It's called the Shortcut Pro. 110 1

NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I test drove one of the NISMO variants when they were still relatively modern. It was fun. Small, pretty quick, manual. Lots of turbo lag, but that's expected with such a small engine. Didn't buy it, though. 010 1

NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 12/09/2026You must be thinking of Google. And they only do it because they can get away with it, knowing their users' irrational and nonsensical hatred of all things Apple will keep them on their Galaxy. 000 0
NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Respectfully, it's not. It's directly transcribing into text, and the audio it's listening to isn't being saved and isn't accessible to the user or even Apple. That's different than recording someone's voice. 🤷♂️ 010 1
NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 12/09/2026These are transcripts. Text translations of words. Dictation that's done on-device. These are *not* recordings that identify people or provide voice information. Audio is not stored. The information isn't accessible to anyone/anything outside of the secure chip on the device that transcribed it. 420 4
NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Mild *spoiler* for Silo ahead! --------- I'm really happy that they put Peter Gabriel in Silo. Not only his songs (in episode & credits), but his cameo. He's been one of my favorites since I was a kid (one of my earliest memories is listening to Sledgehammer when it was a brand new track in 1986). 🥲 011 1
NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I didn’t create the music, I just like a lot of music, and just because it’s on my phone for easy access doesn’t mean I don’t have the personal media backed up at home on my NAS. It’s nice to be able to search for a picture just by typing a name or a pet and it pull up a range of old photos. 010 1
NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Having said that... with the chip prices... my Duo is only going to be 1TB and that's still painful. I'll let iCloud Photos do its thing and just keep less of my legacy media on-device. 010 1
NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 10/09/2026With tens of thousands of high-res photos (about 83,000), 4K videos (4,800), thousands of songs (600GB, 20,000 tracks), hundreds of apps, and 8 years of text messages (I never clear them)... it's easy to use it. I have the 2TB 17 Pro Max and I'm using more than half of that storage. 200 2

Much easier than it used to be when you had to go to the kiosk or wait in a line to buy a physical ticket. This is very "old man yells at cloud" material. 000 0

NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Oh. I see. An older redneck, angry that folks in grocery-getter EVs can take you off the line. It has nothing to do with the Porsche, you’re just anti-EV, and pro-american trash. Why are you even reading an EV website’s Bluesky account? 000 0
NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 06/08/2026It’s also the heaviest Porsche and the fastest production Porsche. Don’t forget to list all the metrics. There are trade-offs, and I’m no Porsche nut, or SUV fan. And this is an ICE-free zone. Don’t bring up that dinosaur here. 000 0
NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 06/08/2026I am not an SUV person, especially not the larger models. However, I’m a fan of this one. The acceleration, braking, wireless charging? It’s a beast. I’ll never be able to afford one, but I can lust after it. 010 1
NickGeeksOut @nickgeeksout.bsky.social · 06/08/2026You haven’t read/watched any of the reviews, huh? Mat Watson (Carwow) did his typical braking test. Get to 60 MPH, then slam on the brakes. He tests average cars, too, and expects them to be able to stop at around 35 meters. Most cars he tests hit that mark. This Porsche did it in 29 meters. 110 1
