I’ve been re-reading LOTR, and I’m currently reading the Scouring of the Shire. Last night I began to feel very sad that they didn’t include it in the films, it certainly feels timely today and would have been a good cultural touchstone for how to think about facism and despotism growing at home.

Leonard’s ancestors developed this natural camouflage because they evolved in an environment with ubiquitous hardwood floors.

A gorgeous, slightly chunky orange cat relaxes on hardwood floors that match the hue of his fur quite nicely. He looks off to one side, as if mildly distracted. His fur is so incredibly soft, that no one who has been in his presence and seen his delightfully spotted belly hasn’t felt the urge to press their face against his dreamy flanks. This majestic beast is Leonard.
