Rereading THE SPARROW by Mary Doria Russell and boy, I forgot just how brutal this book is. Still one of the best first contact books I've ever read.

Just got my first ARC approval from Edelweiss in a very very long time. And the fact that it was THE HERETICS by @joeabercrombie.com made it that much sweeter. Been waiting on this one for a long time and can't wait to dive in!

Hahaha, so many great lines. I finally showed the movie to my 15 year-old daughter and she immediately wanted to watch it again.

If you're making a list of the best Tom Hanks movies and The 'Burbs isn't in your top 5, I don't even know what to say to you.

The #Phillies have the worst type of offense possible. Station to station and if they don't hit a home run they don't score. Just a terribly constructed team.

Hi Jen! We are far enough inland that it didn't affect us that much. Can't say the same for the people right along the coast though. The flooding was horrible.

Think I'm going to do a Black Company reread. Might post some comments here occasionally as I'm going through each book.

Every time I see something stupid or annoying on TV, I ask my kids "Is that a TikTok thing?" And the answer is nearly always yes.

I've been listening to the old Blue Note jazz stuff a lot lately on Spotify. Just a tremendous era of musicianship.

Part of the benefits of being an early riser is I get that hour or so before everyone else in the house wakes up when I can enjoy my coffee and get some quality reading in.
