Friendly reminder in CA you can: - drop your California mail ballot off at *any* polling place or ballot drop box in California, even outside your county, up until 8pm on election night - if you live in a "voters choice" county, you can vote in person at any polling place within the county

So many damn things need to be fixed in the next admin (and if we ever have a functional Congress), but funding/staffing for controllers has to be a priority. One controller working multiple positions at a NY airport is unconscionable. This is totally a systems failure.

Svelte is so damn good. I'm way more of a backend guy, and it is the first (non-Astro) web framework in a long time that's been a joy to use. Love the redesign (and your recent atproto stuff). I'm going to shamelessly borrow some inspiration for a similar photo site I've been wanting to spin up.

"Meanwhile, Chamberlain, which was sold to private equity firm Blackstone in 2021"... enshittification and “private equity ruins everything” sometimes feel a little cliché or on the nose, but you know... patterns. www.theverge.com/tech/839294/...

Justice Jackson ends her dissent with a devastating condemnation of the Court's use of the shadow docket and the horror of what's happening here:
I lament that the Court appears to have embarked on a new era of procedural variability, and that it has done so in such a casual, inequitable, and, in my view, inappropriate manner. See Department of Education v. California, 604 U. S. ___ , ___ (2025) (JACKSON, J., dissenting) (slip op., at
1–2). At least when the Court went off base in the past, it left a record so posterity could see how it went wrong. See, e.g., Korematsu v. United States, 323 U. S. 214 (1944). With
more and more of our most significant rulings taking place in the shadows of our emergency docket, today’s Court leaves less and less of a trace. But make no mistake: We are just as wrong now as we have been in the past, with similarly devastating consequences. It just seems we are now less willing to face it.

Sigh. The last thing we need to come out of this dumb election is for yet another fake election integrity story. California isn't using Starlink to count or transmit votes. medium.com/@dropcompute...
