One of my better Smush games. I actually got the pangram first with no hints! Although I'm disappointed that the 20-year-old internet meme longcat didn't qualify. hankgreen.com/smush

Latest read: Hopeless Necromantic by Shiloh Briar. Necromancer can't let go of the past. Tiefling soldier struggles to fit in. And they fall for each other. It's cute. Easy read. Feels like the author smashing their D&D characters together like a kid with action figures, in a good way. #books

The Last Contract of Isako by Fonda Lee (author of the Green Bone Saga) is a cool ass book. Futuristic sci-fi noir about contractors doing dirty work for the business elite. Main character accepts one last contract that puts her against a former protege. Conspiracies on top of conspiracies. #books

I think I owned the Forgotten Realms 3e campaign setting before I owned the PHB. The first campaign I played in was 2009 in Cormyr. I stuck to the Realms for my first DM'd campaign a couple of years later. My copy is still littered with sticky notes.

My copy of the 3e Forgotten Realms campaign book.

Just wrapped my latest read - The Tapestry of Fate by Shannon Chakraborty. Fun high-seas fantasy adventure of a reformed pirate captain caught between motherhood and mystical responsibilities. This is the second book, about as good as the first and leaves a good spot for the next.

The reactions to seeing G Gundam air for the first time, one from the kid and the other from the OG Gundam fan, are priceless.

Both equally valid reactions to G Gundam: excitement and WTF?

Free comic book day this past weekend was a success. The whole family got a bunch of free books at local places Infinite Realities and My Parents Basement. Also picked up the first volume of Absolute Wonder Women. #freecomicbookday

Initiative is simple. You can decide to do a fast turn or a slow turn depending on the number of actions you want to take or their complexity. Fast PCs go first, then fast NPCs, then slow PCs, and finally slow NPCs.

The set is well stocked. An adventure, pregens, quick rules reference sheet (I'll print more, one for each pregen), grid maps, dice, and initiative cards.

I got the Cosmere RPG Stormlight Starter Set on Independent Bookstore Day. It's a d20 system with some plot dice mechanics to add opportunities and complications, but nat 1/20 also add complications/opportunities, so you bank them pretty quickly. #cosmere #stormlightarchive

Latest additions to the bookshelves: The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee. Morally gray fantasy gangster drama. Think The Godfather meets The Legend of Korra. Good reads. #books #greenbonesaga #jadecity

My latest audiobook was the Star Trek DS9 novel A Stitch in Time, written about Garak by the actor himself and read in audiobook by him too. Robinson still sounds like Garak and also performs the other voices (including other DS9 characters) very well. #books #startrek

Draw Steel uses 2d10 and 1d3, but they made custom d10s and d6s. The d10 is a d20 with 1-10 twice. The d3 is the same with a d6. You don't have to have these special dice, but they're neat to try. Plus, buying them includes the starter adventure. More dice should come with adventures.

The Draw Steel system uses 2d10 and 1d3, except as 2d20 with 1-10 twice and 1d6 with 1-3 twice.

Today, I drew steel in the new MCDM TTRPG #DrawSteel at #dragoncon. Fun system that keeps you engaged as everyone has features that buffs or plays off of everyone else.

We had seven players and one very helpful director (game master).

The Draw Steel dice set sold at Chessex dice with a code for the starter adventure Delian Tomb.

Latest read: The Daughters' War by Christopher Buehlman. It's a prequel to The Blacktongue Thief, which is a great grim fantasy of a rogue's rogue. This follows the secondary character Galva, a soldier who commands a giant warbird (think a velociraptor that looks like a crow). #books #fantasy
