Just a man in a little bubble on a little island. Mostly bad but well punctuated observations about the movies, games, and books in my life.

The regular browser homepage has it quite high up. Not sure why this order wouldn't be replicated in the app - feel like it should be almost 1:1.

New argument in the old 'physical book vs e-reader' debate just dropped. None of the paperbacks on my shelf have suddenly been forced into retirement...
Screenshot of email from Amazon, text as follows:

"Dear Customer,

Thank you for being a longtime Kindle customer. We're glad our devices have served you well for as long as they have. Starting May 20, 2026 — 14 to 18 years after their initial launches — we are discontinuing support for Kindle devices released in 2012 or earlier. Here's what this means for you:

* You can continue to read books already downloaded on these devices, but you will not be able to purchase, borrow, or download additional books on them after that date.
* If you deregister or factory reset these devices, you will not be able to re-register or use these devices in any way."

Re-watching Adam Curtis' ALL WATCHED OVER BY MACHINES OF LOVING GRACE on Amazon Prime, and it still includes the coming-next BBC ads, like Bezos had just recorded the show off the TV. Just...weird.

You wouldn't steal a car! You wouldn't steal a handbag! You would steal a thumbnail from the BBC's streaming platform - if you're Apple TV.
Thumbnail for the movie Sorry to Bother You (depicting actor LaKeith Stanfield holding a phone to his ear and wearing a bloodied bandana). The thumbnail has the BBC logo in the top left corner.
