Banana cake today! Just out of the oven. Now we have to wait a few hours until completely cool and then they will be topped with a chocolate ganache drizzle and flaked almonds. These are perfect to eat as is, but turn next level with the chocolate drizzle!

Raymond is making displays for his hand-carved spoons and items by staining an old shelf with home-made ink dye and drilling in wooden plugs to keep the spoons in position. He was asked to be part of a makers winter market in Amersfoort next month!

Yes, they can be frozen to use whenever you feel like a bit of no-effort soup. Just add boiling water. I make them to take for lunch at work or for a lazy dinner.

Miso base portions for soup. You can keep them in the fridge or freeze them to use when you wish. Just add boiling water! Miso paste, dried shiitake mushroom, wakame, nori, bean curd sheet, bonito flakes, and spring onions. Mix it all up and pack into portions. It's perfect for an office lunch.

Now that the days are getting shorter and cooler a bowl of hot miso soup is perfect! I make my own miso base and just add boiling water for an instant warm snack. You can add a few cubes of tofu to this as well and some shredded greens of your choice, and you have a zero effort nutritious hot lunch.

Dandelion greens update. Coming along nicely. Not sure how long it will take before they've grown enough for a salad, but this requires zero maintenance or watering. It takes care of itself by the kitchen window.

I finally got around to baking my yoghurt cake. I didn't have the usual tin this recipe is made for so i used two loaf tins instead. It's like a lemon-scented, fluffy cheesecake slice with streusel on top.

Our local Muscovy mother duck of the year saw us coming home from walking the dog this morning and everyone waddled toward us! The baby ducks are growing fast and all 16 surrounded Raymond and kept him hostage for a while.

Hahahaha we generally try to cycle with a ‘tourist radar’, most people who visit are not prepared. You are luck nobody smashed into you. With some of those bakfietsen (cargo bikes) you may as well be hit by a car.
