Fantastic track from an underrated album. Also, album cover art by Dave McKean (if I am remembering right). You know Dave’s work from various covers of O.G. Sandman comics (amongst others) and the Coraline novel, plus loads of other album covers.

Meanwhile, boomers labeled music over 20yrs old as “oldies” right? And how that continued until genx got into their 40s & 50s and went fuck that. 40 year old Cure tune? Still relevant. 30 year old rave anthem? Still bangs. 50 year old punk track? Still fucking shreds. Oldies? Fuck no. Not having it.

High Mountains Flowing Water (高山流水) is the ache of being truly heard. When Bo Ya touched the qin, others heard music; only Zhong Ziqi heard mountains rising and rivers rushing through his soul. After Ziqi died, Bo Ya shattered his qin and never played again, not 1/2 #folklore

"I'm a gentleman...by implication" #TimCurry #ParadiseGarage This was my introduction to Tim Curry. First time seeing Rocky Horror the theatre played two Tim Curry music videos before the movie, and this was the first one. I was 17, aching to go clubbing, and completely blown away.

One of my favorite movies with Tim Curry is Times Square. He played a radio DJ and followed the Sleez Sisters navigating the underbelly of New York. The soundtrack is one of the main features of this movie. Bands like The Ramones, The Cure, Pretenders, Gary Numan, etc.

Curry had some incredible songs released, and not just for his unique voice. Some of them were very emotionally intense. "Slow Gin" is probably one of the most depressing pieces of "pop" music out there. This one is outstanding too.

Thought of @escherbug.art yesterday as well as my friend & apiarist Hugh. Saw a little bee on the side walk just dancing it's little heart out. Same pattern over and over. But it was in the hot sun in 88F temp and I was so worried for this bee. Shaded the bee as best as I could until it was done.

Must admit Tim Curry’s role as Darkness in Ridley Scott’s 1985 “Legend” might have been my favorite role of his. His mesmerizing, riveting portrayal of the essence of evil kept me returning to this otherwise mediocre fantasy. You could basically forget Tom Cruise ’stars’. Curry owns the film.

Felt. One night after I had been DJ downtown, I left the venue at 3 a.m. with my van loaded up with all the amps and equipment. I was super tired from working 8 hrs and then DJing (set up-break down etc) and forgot to put my headlights on. Cop pulls me over for no headlights. (1/2)

@theforestcrow.bsky.social got me sucked into a two hour hole reading about that crazy f*cker Qin Shi Huang (China’s first Huangdi) 😅😆 Did you know he started the Great Wall of China by physically building links between existing walls? And then in the subsequent centuries other dynasties added on.

My YouTube trends for 2025. Honestly, that cdramas aren’t higher on the list is kinda shocking.

A list:
1. Electronic music mixes
2. Exploring different cultures
3. Dance performances
4. K-Pop music videos
5. Chinese historical dramas

Finally, a version that hasn't been messed with by Mark Farina. (No hate on Farina, but his vocal layering is just too much and detracts from this wonderful funky amazing track) I need this pure original copy in hi def so badly.

Watching a super low budget cdrama where the lead guy flipped his ponytail trying to get it off his shoulder… and he did it so vigorously that it whipped around to his other side and hit himself in the face. And to the cast & crew’s credit they kept rolling and no one broke character. Love it.
