As a mom of both a girl and a boy, men abuse women and children because they can. Because the good, nonabusive men won’t hold them accountable. Just like good white people don’t consistently work to stop racism, sons, fathers, and husbands of women and girls don’t actively try to change the culture.

I’ve had both cats and dogs. Have fortunately experienced both being exceptionally empathetic, comforting and just all around “there” for me or for family. It’s why I hate the whole “who’s better: cats or dogs” debate. It like humans, some are amazing and some are… “are you sure you’re human?”.

Iced coffee seems tame (not that I would ever do it). How about inappropriate behavior of interviewers like clipping toe nails, asking who your parents voted for, are you a woman’s libber? Etc. yes, interviewees do dumb stuff but some employers violate the law, not just social norms.

I had the realization you did when he made that statement. I realized he valued his political ambitions above prior promises. I tell young people “know what your values are before you’re in a tough situation so you uphold them.” It’s easy to go down a short-sighted “just this once” if ypu don’t.

I’m with you. Markey was my Congressman and I happened to sit next to him on a flight home to Boston when I was pregnant with my first child. We were in coach. I grew up working class Wyatt fireman Dad who worked a second job. Markey didn’t forget regular people. Moulton never knew regular people.

Not all white people. Seems to be white people who live in certain parts of the USA (Midwest and South) and are not recent immigrants. I grew up on a street with immigrants and first generation families. The food was seasoned and everyone knew salt was needed for flavor but wasn’t a spice.

Cooked green bell pepper can take over the flavor of the dish but it’s not a spicy flavor. Hated it as a kid. As a grown up I learned a little goes a long way. Love chipotle, jalapeño, chili. Habanero, and other peppers.

Grew up in New England. My first generation French Canadian dad always seasoned his food with salt and pepper. He made the BEST steak in a pan, lots of pepper and just enough salt. Also wasn’t afraid of butter and wouldn’t allow margarine in the house. Italian immigrants in NE didn’t do bland either

We often remember what resonates with us. Being inspired motivated you. Others are motivated by fear or negative partisanship. I’ve been politically engaged before I could vote. My siblings always voted but were never as knowledgeable on policy as I was. They are knowledgeable now b/c it’s so bad.

That is the personality of abusive men and women. They are controlling so they don’t listen. I didn’t compare Trump to Hong. People who voted Trump or refused to vote Harris for emotional, single issue reasons made a decision that made them feel morally justified. But- the people suffering in Gaza or being snatched up or killed by ICE or are suffering because of DOGE are paying the price.

More effective to highlight Dems and journalists that call out rape culture. Issue goes beyond Red and Blue. Jaime Raskin is a real “girl Dad” because he calls this 💩 out. Highlight that and shame the “girl Dads” or moms who stay quiet. Ask them why they don’t fight for their girls. Make em squirm
