ngaio @ngaio.bsky.social · 14/09/2026I remain so confused by this (though I know EDS/BHS are ... interesting disorders) because I have the opposite thing, I pre-warn if I'm doing day surgery that unless I'm an early morning time then they -will- be keeping me in overnight because it takes me forever to wake up 140 0

ngaio @ngaio.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Without doxxing I can't say specifically, but there's a colour and texture element as well that rubber roofing just wouldn't meet. But thank you, a few years ago when her roof needed doing I was trying to look into what would happen if we couldn't source the material and failing. Book will be good! 000 0
ngaio @ngaio.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Interesting, thank you. We were lucky, my wife got the very last piece of correct roofing, but like I said, others weren't so lucky/made different decisions. In this case the roofing should be metal so the rubber is not correct but another form of metal roofing would be? Cool. 1130 0
ngaio @ngaio.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Also I should say I'm pro-listing, I'm just also aware of the challenges (and in this case the housing is some of the cheapest locally so people who live there often can't afford to choose to buy elsewhere instead) 020 0
ngaio @ngaio.bsky.social · 30/08/2026But what happens then? Are listed buildings inspected periodically to make sure they're still correct? And what recourse does someone have if it proved impossible to repair with the right materials? (OK, sorry, apparently I did have questions!) 120 0
ngaio @ngaio.bsky.social · 30/08/2026It's not really a question, but my wife lives in a house which is listed and requires specific building materials (roofing) and the single business that made it went bust but the roof still needed fixing so the leaks would stop. The house over the road just put a rubber roof on which is illegal. 2120 0
