Thanks to OME-Zarr, you can browse and analyse it straight from the cloud or on #HPC without downloading the dataset. And because the data are openly available, others can revisit them to validate results, train new models, or spot biology the original study didn't look for.

Curious to see what a malaria parasite looks like during different stages of cytokinesis? 🫣 In this month’s @nfdi4bioimage.bsky.social calendar, we present a dataset of Plasmodium falciparum in EMPIAR and available as OME-Zarr via the @bioimagearchive.bsky.social, both hosted by @ebi.embl.org.

Published in the Journal of Microscopy, the study showcases how FLIM adds a time dimension to conventional fluorescence imaging. This allows researchers to separate fluorescent labels that emit nearly identical colors and discriminate labeled proteins from an organism’s natural autofluorescence.
