OSHA reminds us: heat illness is preventable. Hydrate, rest, and cool down. Employers must provide safe conditions workers shouldn’t risk their lives for a paycheck. Check out this Article: abc13.com/post/heat-sa...

Heat deaths are rising, and enforcement is falling. Texas eliminated local heat safety ordinances, leaving workers exposed. We need stronger county enforcement and community pressure to make sure employers follow OSHA’s basic guidelines. Heat safety is a right, not a luxury.

Houston workers can attest that the humidity and heat are life threatening and dangerous on the job. Every worker deserves shade, water, and rest. Protect your crew, check on neighbors, and demand enforcement of heat‑safety standards.

More than one in ten construction workers are undocumented, and they are disproportionately targeted for misclassification and wage theft. Fear of deportation keeps many from reporting violations. We fight for every worker, regardless of status.

Wage theft costs U.S. workers billions each year. Know your rights: overtime pay is 1.5× your regular rate no exceptions. Every stolen hour is stolen dignity. Houston workers are organizing to end wage theft and demand accountability.

I’m at Commissioners Court today listening to dozens of Harris County residents share their thoughts on the decisions that will be made today. It’s great to see so many people engage with government in this way. I wish more people knew that they can do this (and more) to make their voices heard. 🧵
