the best time for me to have heard this was 5 years ago, the second best time is now

Reading Ikka Danran makes me reflect on how much I've changed, cause I know the me from 1-2 years ago would have hated it. A true story about how you should be more annoying. Plus I love the way it rebels against the idea of the nuclear family and embraces found family

Millsage's story felt like continuously being stabbed in the heart over and over again it was awesome. I can feel myself slowly becoming particularly focused on Houka and relating to a lot of her experiences. Plus all their songs are fucking incredible (everscape and Narasu are my 2 favs so far)

24. Bandori Our Notes - Millsage & Ikka Danran band stories I wasn't quite sure how I wanted to add this to the thread the ongoing nature of the game's story (+ plus the other 3 stories already having anime) but I think I at least wanted to add these stories to the thread

23. I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day Of all the great anime from last season this one's my clear favourite! Absolutely fell in love with all of the characters, and seeing Sheena and Mimi grow ❤️ Will probably pick up the manga soon

22. Resident Evil (2026) Didn't plan on actually watching this but went to the theatre with my mom the other day and this is what she chose. It's a well made movie and I liked the cinematography but I can't say anything really emotionally invested me. Probably will forget it all in a month

I feel like every few months I learn or realize something new about SRC that makes me think we all need to just get our shit off that site

SRC changed their terms of use yesterday, and released a news post with an FAQ. They make it sound like not a big deal. It's a big deal. The Creative Commons licence is gone. They claim ownership over the data now. Thread about what this means, and what we can do about it 🧵

Comparison of the old src terms and the new src terms

one of the worst and most terrifying pieces of information that ive learned is that in order to make friends you kind of have to be annoying to people. and if they like it thenn you can be friends. friendship is just when you both like when the other one is annoying

20. Saya no Uta Went into this 100% blind other than knowing it was written by Gen Urobuchi. Definitely achieved its goal of making me feel extremely disturbed but I can't help but feel like I didn't *get* it. Like, it has themes of humanity vs inhumanity but beyond that it's hard for me to parse

19. Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia Beautifully unique in both setting and visual style, and I absolutely love Sitara/Fatima as the lead. I do wish we got to see more of the story beyond just these 12 episodes but for what we got, it was incredible Women can do anything when they work together

I keep typing out the things that I love about Yumemita but every time I read what I write I feel like this fucking meme and then I delete it all Really need to learn from Arale and just gush about the things I love...

Meme of an ogre crying and holding Ulysses by James Joyce saying "Everyone call Ogre stupid and it true! Ogre barely even literate! Ogre finally finished reading Ulysses but Ogre only can identify surface level themes like Religion and Nationalism and can't comprehend deeper ideas like the "remorse of Conscience" that make Jame Joyce's novel a Modernist Classic! Ogre so dumb, it make Ogre sad! At this rate, Ogre will never understand Finnegans Wake!"

18. Bang Dream Yumemita "What can I do? No... What do I want to do?" Even though parts of the show definitely felt a little clumsy and disjointed, I adore it. The anxieties the girls have (Arale and Miyako in particular) are so relevant to the current me, seeing the way they grew was inspirational

Didn’t realize there was gonna be a million posts on this site about oot visuals so just to clarify: I don’t think it looks particularly bad overall, just feels a little bit uncanny valley at times

Personally am pretty excited for the OoT remake but I can’t deny that the visuals are giving “what if Zelda had REALISTIC graphics”

17. The Truman Show For my work's movie club in August! Thought it was really interesting, especially as I'm dealing with social anxiety and learning to trust my own perception. I also thought it was neat how it brought up how disadvantaged children can be abused by societal systems

16. Where is the Friend's House? forgot to update the thread when I watched this in July for my work movie club. Well made Iranian film that captures the anxiety of being a child in a world of unkind adults. Loved the way the film had so many long shots, making all the scenes feel very realistic

I know the main reason I love it is because of the scene, but even almost a year out from having played Gears I still listen to the song regularly. The amount of emotions it's able to convey over just 5 minutes is *chef's kiss*
