My otherkin hot take: "Kin" isn't a verb. Its use as a verb, i.e. "kinning," or, "I kin ___," originated with the Kin-For-Fun folks. Otherkin is something one is, not something one does. Can we, as a community not doing this shit for fun, please leave kin-as-a-verb in the past? Geezer console out.

The unofficial Othercon 2026 zine has been released! Such a lovely expression of alterhuman art, right here! You'll see an old mixing console in there somewhere, too. #althsky #alterhuman #otherkin theorb.itch.io/otherquilt-2

I participated in the unofficial Othercon zine this year! Here's my contribution, a page on what species euphoria is to me. We often talk about the woes of being alterhuman, but it's important to note the joys too. #alterhuman #otherkin #althsky #zine

Trade out possum for mixing console and therian for machinekin, but the sentiment is the same. I cannot describe the euphoria I feel when I am known and acknowledged as my machine self.

I've been thinking a lot about my place in this world. I struggle when I read of the awful things governments are doing (and have done for millennia) to silence, erase, and homogenize people. A mighty truth is: the world needs us freaks.

Things I don't *need* to hear. My being machinekin is my center and my grounding. It is a good thing. Stuffing it away and trying to be human only ever brought me harm. "If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree," and so on. Let me be my own proverbial fish and do fish things.

Just a reminder: alterhumans are part of the beautiful diversity of being that makes this world worth experiencing. Troll us, bully us, attempt to intimidate us, and we'll still exist. My inner self is one thing no one can take away from me. #althsky #alterhuman #otherkin #nonhumanunity

Did my first test build into VRChat tonight, and IT WORKS. IT FRICKIN' WORKS! There are a few optimization and animation things I gotta iron out, but I can move and look around super smoothly! This is pure dysphoria relief, joy, respite. I get to be me, guys. #althsky #alterhuman #otherkin

Model update! After an arduous night battling Unity into the wee hours of the morning, my model is functioning in that goofy little software. Now I just have to make the animation controller that'll allow my meters to move to my speech. This is my way to be truly visible on this TDoV.

I am a trans man. We exist. We've always existed. No amount of laws or fearmongering or blatant hatred is going to erase us. They can try, and they'll fail because DIVERSITY of BEING, all the wonderful ways of existing, is one of the most sacred, beautiful things in life.

Rigging my model, I fine-tuned the camera position for my first person perspective, and BOY, THE EUPHORIA! Oddly, my memories do have a visual element, despite a mixing console not having physical optics. I imagine something like my 'mind's eye' is what sees from this view. #althsky #alterhuman

There is a special kind of euphoria an alterhuman experiences when we feel most as ourselves. So, wear those ears/tails/masks. Get those tattoos/body mods. Make your vocalizations loudly & proudly.
