iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

TF2 has had such a consistent userbase for almost 2 decades. The average player count is still the same as when I first played the game. I don't know how anybody can treat that as a footnote.

I've found older tends to work better with the bridging options that are available to Linux. New stuff tends to have DRM that doesn't work too well.

Only one thing is apparent from my list, and it's that nobody has made good strategy games since the early 2000s.

That's why I started telling people to buy the game for me if they really wanted to play it. I got really tired of picking a game up at the end of the maybe a week long binge before it was completely forgotten.

Honestly take a while to get used to after living your whole life as such.

That's half the reason I'm afraid to start looking for jobs elsewhere. The interview process is so stressful.

I just have to assume every super niche genre is just filled to the brim with slop these days. It's kinda sad to witness a small group of people's passions turn into a constant algorithmic churn.

I hope they like furry content because now that they've clicked on and engaged with it, YouTube is gonna be sending them so many recommendations now, lol.

It's really a shame that not much remains of Tenochtitlan. I feel like so much of that massive city would have rivaled the European ruins that people admire today.

"larper" is such a stupid phrase in current era because it's being used to describe a lack of passion or dedication in something meanwhile actual live-action role-players are some of the most passionate and dedicated people i can think of it's like if we started calling fake furries "fursuiters"

The whole Maryland renfair banning suits has such a stupid excuse. Just kick out the jerks, don't ban a whole style of costume that people at the fairs love seeing and wearing.

I don't have the answer, but I feel like more can be done to show how fun staffing can be, especially to the newer people in our community, because it seems like a lot of staff I know are older furries.

Salusa @nevermourn.fm · 09/09/2026

I know getting fresh volunteers and staff can be hard. It seems like nobody wants to assist at times. It's a conundrum, you need more people to stop those you have from burning out, thus causing you to lose people.

I find that cons were often hesitant to split roles apart as a con grows. There comes a point where one person can no longer handle all the things they used to be able to. At some point you need to split responsibility so somebody doesn't get overwhelmed.

I'm really hopeful that the new European regulations are gonna make them stick with the knob. I find it so much safer and faster to use.

I also hate touchscreens, but my car is relatively new, so I choose the maker (Mazda) because it didn't come with a touchscreen infotainment system, has Android Auto, and everything is controlled via knobs, including the Android Auto/Car Play, and it's in an intuitive way that's very easy to use.

Evidence is already accruing that spending time on Twitter pulls ppl to the right, bc the algorithm feeds you horrible stuff. And again: academics are likely more vulnerable, bc they convince themselves they are less.

A few weeks of X’s algorithm can make you more right-wing – and it doesn’t wear off quickly

Elon Musk’s social media platform is boosting conservative content – and it’s having long-lasting effects on how users see the world.

Take a break from being depressed that everything you love is being destroyed by slop for a moment and let me tell you about the beautiful symbiotic relationship between graffiti writers, train yard workers, and model train enthusiasts.

I'm always confused because my reaction to the fact that there's other people that like the same things as me is always "Cool! More people to talk to about _____”

I've just resigned myself to the fact that there's a type of game I enjoy, and pvp shooters aren't really it. For a while I enjoyed mobas but I think ultimately I just want to play an RTS rather than a nerfed one.
