You don't know how much I despise reading a book, finding a deep intimate friendship between a man and a woman in it, and seeing them fall in love everytime before the end. I crave for an actual non-ambiguous friendship where they can be intimate without it ever becoming romantic or sexual.....

Day 23 : Secret identities in WIP The prophetised hero is the villain he's supposed to kill. The messy pseudo-gangster is secretely a living magical artefact. The "helpless" automaton girl is also a sort of reincarnation of the queen of fairies. Among other things. #fantasyindiesfebruary

Day 22 : How does your MC handle romantic feelings ? #FantasyIndiesFebruary Hum.... Not well..? To begin with, he would struggle to understand his situation. He feels things deeply, but never knows much what to do of it. He never experienced physical attraction too.

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 21 : A snippet Once again, it's in french... It's from the tenth chapter, which dwelves a bit more into Ségdae and Klervi's relationship (this extract is cute, and that's why i'm putting it here, because otherwise they are both weird)

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 20 : Candies or chocolate Chocolate ! I like milk chocolate and dark chocolate only, I'm not fond of white chocolate at all... I love dark chocolat with salted caramel, or with praliné lately... Found a factory nearby doing their own chocolate, and their products are sooo good.

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 19 : Is your MC self-aware Hum... In part ? He tends to dissociate, and the way he perceives himself is really distorted. He can't really realize how sweet he is, because he sees himself as a beast, so this part of himself feels alien everytime he thinks back about it.

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 18 : MC's preferred dessert ! A strawberry cake ! Anything with strawberries ! He likes them sweet, with chantilly maybe, or a brioche, or something airy... If it's light and sugary with strawberries, he'll love it !

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 17 : Your preferred book spiciness level I'm not that fond of spice, so I'd better not have to read through too many scenes. If a book is marketed as mostly spice, it's not for me. Otherwise, I'm not bothered as long as the plot is nice, some spicy scenes can be very pretty and/or meaningful !

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

He's meant to save an empire, but there's also a twist that truly turns everything of its head. Can't say much more ah ah The rest is mostly left a mystery in the first part, to be fair, but I'd say Isil and Ségdae are the ones with the most expectations on their back.

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 16 : What expectations are put on your characters ? Neven is seen as some sort of walking calamity. I'd say a lot of people end up expecting for him to die sonner or later in the story 🤐 Ségdae as a different set of expectations adressed to him...

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 15 : Romantic movie or book recommandation I'd like to recommand the thailandese serie He's Coming to Me. It's on Youtube with english subs ! It's about a young man turned into a ghost that can't rest in peace, and another that can see spirits, it's bittersweet, but more sweet than bitter !

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 14 : A new snippet Once again, I write in french, so it's in french é.è It's in the fifth chapter !

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 13 : A Love Song to share ! Blinking Game by #Jonghyun ! So pretty and romantic ! "My love, see yourself reflected in my eyes So beautiful Please don’t be shy I want to place you in my eyes, just as you are" youtu.be/4GG4UOaX89w?...

Day 12 : What are your comfort reads ? The manga Witch Hat Atelier ! (it's a lie, I'm setting a trap) There's a book I found really comforting too, but I only know the french title. It's about two peculiar sisters reuniting after their mother's death.

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 11 : Heartbreak in WIP There's a heartbreak in the first part I'm writing, so it's funny but... Yes, someone will have to face an unrequited love and will more or less get "dumped" a day before the worst day of his life (for now).

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 10 : WIP Love Interests It's complicated and I don't want to break anyone's heart, but almost all couples in this serie are a bit doomed (at least partially). There's a secret wedding between Klervi and another character I won't name. One character will also have a kid with their lover.

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 9 : What would your MC like to be known for ? This gremlin would say he'd love for the world to know about him being the scariest gangster that ever existed... But if he was honest with himself, he would prefer to be known for being gentle, a good cook and an amazing musician.

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 8 : Favourite Tropes Hum... I like tropes about reluctant heroes, hidden worlds, tropes around complicated families with a lot of secrets, unreliable narrators, misunderstood monsters etc. In general, give me a bit of misteries to solve, and I'll run.

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 7 : A Snippet I'm breton and write in french, so I'm sorry if only english speakers stumble upon this, but to follow the rules... (it's an extract of the third chapter) (it's very much a WIP, I feel a bit embarrassed about this T-T)

Day 6 : Kiss, Marry, Unalive with my characters Neven : Kiss, he's a cute gremlin Ségdae : ....As he is now, I'll say unalive Klervi : Kiss, she's hot Isil (potentiel temporary name) : Kiss, she's my daughter Keryan : Kiss, he's sweet I won't marry anyone, it's overrated !

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 5 : Have you put any of your personality traits into your characters ? Some, yes ! The closest to me IRL would be Seth, one of my secondary character. He's a gentle giant with autism, and an astrologist. If this book ever gets published, please don't hate him mdrrrr

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 3 : Does your MC believe in soulmate ? Fortunately, no. He would be pretty much anxious about it otherwise.

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 2 : Romance in WIP There isn't much to share as of now relating to this topic. In the first book in general, there's only one canon couple without much details, and a case of unrequited "love" at the end I didn't write yet (it's a superficial kind of love too).

100

Awen @nevergarden.bsky.social · 23/02/2026

Day 1 : Introduce yourself and WIP My name is Awen, and I'm working on a fantasy project very much inspired by the celtic folklore. It doesn't have a name yet, but basically : A loser prince prophetised to save his empire meets a pseudo-gangster fleeing his own set of curses. It will be an issue.
