When I was trapped in Vault Argo for anywhere from 6 minutes to 12000 years I met this guy named Sisyphus in there who had this massive perfectly spherical boulder that he was rolling up a mountain. It always fell and crushed him but he got better and kept going. Wonder how he is now!

\ as I write this book I am realizing the most delicious part of subverting the myth I've captured thus far is the fact that Eurydice is going to give Hades, her 'captor,' dead wife PTSD flashbacks,

The Orpheus Defiance happens two years before HC and it's becoming more apparent this means it just presages everything to come later, and is NOT, in fact, a neat little incident in a vacuum

the curse of being impatient but also brainrotting myself about adding Hippolyta to Orpheus/Eurydice to make them a throuple and running the calculations over and over and realizing there probably needs to be at least two years before that can happen in a healthy manner

Well despite 2026 probably being the hardest year of my life thus far, and I do have a victory in that even with this little of it done thus far, the concept of writing a full novel now feels like a tangible thing I can actually do. Nearly 10k words in 2 weeks feels crazy given my history.

interesting seeing how many in-progres GO things are playing with Prometheus and seemingly similar concepts. they are in The Orpheus Defiance, acting as the wellspring of Orpheus' power and playing into his themes of rebellion, but they are not really a character per se, or even a focus.
