engaged user base: Character serves approximately 12 million active monthly users located around the world and, while usage varies widely, on average, active users spend approximately 120 minutes a day on Character.Al. As with all emerging technologies, new issues can mount in real time, but with Al and online entertainment, this risk has played out in a multitude of ways and, unfortunately, has reached young people. By way of example, in August of this year, in the face
of mounting allegations of misconduct in areas such as personal injury, child privacy and state

deficit spending without an increase in long-term perspective or goods, such as pensions: no. because in the latter case, the sum of money increases without a corresponding increase in wealth. And it's *that* that drives inflation, not the increase in money by itself

A random (hot) take around MMT: The usefulness for a state to issue bonds instead of money directly is to slow down the velocity of money through making the bond owner to unable to spend it during the duration of the bond. That, for a sovereign state who controls its currency. This means that […]

The yellow heart emoji ⟨💛⟩ is mistakenly displayed as a pink "hairy heart" ⟨a pink heart symbol with marks representing short hair.⟩ in Google's Android 4.4 mobile operating system (released 2013) because Google's emoji art team misinterpreted the dots in Unicode's black-and-white reference images ⟨Heart symbol with dots.⟩ as being hair stubble. In reality, the dotted pattern is simply used as a colorless way to represent the color yellow (in accordance with heraldic hatching).

I think the lesson for SoC vendors for the NPUs is: make it have access to all SoC membw. Prefill on accelerator decode on GPU isn't a great answer and is in a sense the worst of both worlds, especially when you don't have proper GPU preemption and/or spatial simultaneous exec.

You know, the Apple M6 ANE makes me rethink the ANE is totally useless view. It's good enough this time, with a reasonable amount of memory bandwidth accessible (read ~ all) to be a worthwhile block. I wonder if they will also have the ANE scale up for their bigger chips too. And Apple […]

What'd be the most charitable interpretation possible for the latest DHH rant? Well, if there was benefit of the doubt, he's burning it in spades.
DHH:

It took the Reconquista nearly eight hundred years to reclaim Spain. Don't give me that loser talk that it's "too late for Europe."

The next generation coming up is unbelievably based. They've seen what suicidal empathy has wrought upon their nations.

Never lose faith.

< Reconquista map >

Europe has temporarily forgotten that its peace and prosperity have always rested upon men able and willing to exact tremendous violence against those who wish it harm.

It'll remember again.
