I'm excited to share the new paper from the Cossart lab @inmed.bsky.social , a work I had the pleasure to share with Caroline Filippi and Manon Mantez, without forgetting all the people involved in this team effort. It's available in @currentbiology.bsky.social www.cell.com/current-biol...

Distinct developmental trajectories of externally and internally generated hippocampal sequences and assemblies
Leprince et al. use longitudinal two-photon calcium imaging to track the development of internal vs. external representations in the CA1 region of the mouse hippocampus. They identify the mid-fourth p...

How does the brain build a memory? A common assumption is that the neurons activated during an experience collectively form the memory engram. In our new Nature Neuroscience paper (finally out!), we show that this is not the case. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Deconstruction of a memory engram reveals distinct ensembles recruited at learning - Nature Neuroscience
Pouget et al. identified distinct CA1 neuron ensembles active during specific moments of fear learning and uncovered the core engram essential for memory formation.

Our preprint of my PhD’s work in @gisellavetere.bsky.social lab is finally out on BiorXiv: doi.org/10.1101/2024..., and I’m so excited to share it! If you’ve ever wondered about reconciling engram manipulation experiments and neuronal activity during encoding, you’re on the right thread! 1/14
