BY THE WAY If you've updated to Windows 11 recently, you're probably on version 25H2. There's a new setting in Settings: Privacy & Security. Scroll aaaaaaaalll the way to the bottom and you'll see "Text and Image Generation." TURN IT OFF.

Screenshot from Windows Settings>Privacy and Security>Text and image Generation.

"Text and image generation uses on-device AI technologies to quickly respond to requests. Turning this settings off will not affect apps and features using cloud AI technologies.

Windows and anyone using this device can use Text and image generation.

earlier today i was crying, so i was gonna go on a short walk to clear my head. as soon as i stepped out of my apartment, my neighbor stepped out of hers. she was also crying. we just kinda stared at each other for a sec and laughed before parting ways

Look you just have to make the cool weird shit that excites you. You must. In this world besieged by bland, scrubbed boring, computer slop, you must. Make the thing you’re embarrassed to make, the thing that feels “too much” because otherwise we get drowned in a sea of cowardly work made by a button

there are many things in this life that i am disillusioned and constantly upset by, but i think the most prominent thing that has that effect on me is working in technology for a living

same guy who said that the metaverse would be the new way we do literally anything, and yet, here we are: having almost completely forgotten about the metaverse only a measly few years later. quite frankly, i am not inclined to believe anything he — or any tech CEO — says.
