I feel like I am getting a shorter and shorter fuse at work lately, and I don't like that. Feels like I have a lot of unneeded stress amd pressure. For example, no one could figure out tutoring yesterday for sign in, even though I am not supposed to run tutoring. I don't get the special pay for it.

The BIOs firmwares are more for stability and ability for the hardware to gain new support. It also helps with vulnerabilites on the hardware level to be made useless. Windows has been butts withbnew tech and how it handles older versions. The fact that it's a microcode update is strange though.

Ah, okay. Looks like a BIOs firmware update was released last year that updated the microcode of the 11th and 10th gen cpus.

To save some money, all you would need is a USB 2.0 flash drive as well. What is your Motherboard manufacturer if you happen to know? If it's Gigabyte or ASUS, they have fairly simple BIOs update methods. ASUS usually has a button on the back I/O panel that takes you to the update place easily.

Ooof. I'll start watching YouTube tutorials then. And buy a flash drive. I want to do a bunch of research first so I don't mess it up. Wish this process had been made a little more beginner friendly over all these years, like GPU's had. 🫣 I appreciate the advice though, even if I'm terrified of it.

Some BIOs have an easy flash option, and a simplified menu to make things easier. I can send you a USB Flash drive and an HDD if you want to backup before just in case. I have a bunch of spares I don't use since getting a NAS. Main important thing is to get the BIOs files from your motherboard maker

Updating the BIOs I would do first and foremost. So long as you have constant power and don't have an outage you'll be fine. I had already assumed you had done that actually. I would still do the thermal paste change too.

Hm, might not hurt to replace the thermal paste at the very least. So long as you put enough it can only help. Only other thing I can think of is going into the BIOs and undervolting the CPU and turning off XMP if it is enabled.

Well that's good that you avoided the 13th and 14th generation for those voltage instabilities. I wonder if the under load temps are reporting correctly. When was the last time you replaces the thermal paste? Also I forget, are you doing air cooling or AIO cooling? That definitely is strange.

Got my Scalable Video Switch finally up & running. So now I have got to sell my GComp 8 input, 2 output Component switch. Anyone possibly interested? It comes with a laser bear protective bumper case & the micro usb port for power is protected. Wanna try to get $200 for it since they retail at $300.

My friends have ultra wides and love them. Some games that don't support then can be a tad finicky from what they've told me, but those friends don't play older games like I do, they usually play the latest releases.
