Super cool for my local GameStop to not call me when my preordered Switch 2 copy of Lies of P arrived and then sold it before I could pick it up.

Despite some of the issues with the game and its development, I always think back to Bright Memory whenever someone argues they need GenAI to make a game as good as the studios. The tools are there. You just don’t want to take the time to learn them or pay people who do.

Just got out of Francis Ford Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula and what a wonderful piece of practical filmmaking that picture is. Just a victory lap of the medium. Really takes your breath away at times.

A Bluesky post on a story about country singer Zach Bryan using a picture of Home Improvement star Zachery Ty Bryan, who is currently in prison.

I have no other choice but to share my #LastFourWatched. Metropolis on the big screen with a live two-piece band providing the music was an incredible experience and one I shan’t forget.

Hawk Mountain was quite disturbing and a reminder that if I’m ever going to finish my novel, I need to start writing it instead of just thinking about it and jotting down the occasional note. So my next few reads will be about writing. #booksky

Can I issue a moratorium on calling things “performative?” Do I have that power? I just saw a video where a guy described using a Steam Deck in public as performative. Because god forbid we use a portable console portably.

I need to read more poetry because I think my education was lacking in that regard. Maybe I’ll do contemporary next time. Meanwhile, I managed to squeeze in Frankenstein this week and am moving on to a more recent work. #booksky

Doing research on Hispanics in New York for Hispanic Heritage Month and there are so many shitty AI written websites I have filter out to get anything resembling accurate information. Used to hate this word but I’m embracing it now: fuck the enshittification of the internet. Look at this slop!

A few thoughts on DQ Monsters The Withered World demo: 1. Production values are so good it makes you wonder what happened with The Dark Prince. 2. Switch 1 version runs well on my Switch 2. 3. Thank TOSE for anti-motion sickness settings because I need it. #blutoid

Metroid Ravenous and that gorgeous Chozo Statue amiibo were the Direct highlights for me, but the rest of the show was great too. Shout out to Kirby, Eternal Anima, Onyx, Bayo Stellar skin, and the Torneko remaster (not at $25). Curious Duskbloods didn't get a release date. Glad Layton did. #blutoid

The Ocarina of Time remake looks alright. I'll get it one day far into the future (its not like it's going out of print anytime soon), but there are plenty of games I haven't beaten multiple times already, including other Zeldas, that deserve my attention first. Now gimmie that LEGO set! #blutoid
