Nerok @nerok.tube · 30/09/2026Sorry for wanting to build a quality product, but I guess that is not what the company wants from me. I think that was my last attempt at trying. Just gonna put the slop in the bag until I can find somewhere that takes pride in what they build. 0100
Nerok @nerok.tube · 30/09/2026I went to my boss like, “I feel like my concerns were not heard in that discussion” And his reply was basically just “that’s because your concerns aren’t valid because you haven’t yet accepted the fact that Claude Opus 5.5 has entirely supplanted every manual step of software engineering” Ya ok 2110
Nerok @nerok.tube · 29/09/2026This guy was an engineer for his entire career until a few years ago. And I worked with him when he was an engineer, and he was a good engineer then. I guess executive brainrot is inevitable 110
Nerok @nerok.tube · 29/09/2026A human doesn’t understand that it’s probably not a good idea to vibecode software that flies billion dollar spacecraft 240
Nerok @nerok.tube · 29/09/2026Me: “Either a human understands every change to the code, or a human doesn’t understand every change to the code” CEO: “No, you’re wrong, you’re thinking like everything is black and white” 🤨 Explain to me the superposition of a change that is both understood and not understood 4140
Nerok @nerok.tube · 29/09/2026I’ve been here over a year and have still not met a single person other than my mail lady lol 000
Nerok @nerok.tube · 29/09/2026Yeah, but out here you hear them yapping around every single morning and evening :3 120
Nerok @nerok.tube · 29/09/2026The country is great because your neighbors are coyotes and meadowlarks 280
Nerok @nerok.tube · 25/09/2026I can’t tell if you’re talking about this year’s ballot propositions, or every ballot proposition ever 120
Nerok @nerok.tube · 25/09/2026People use hedging language when they know what they’re saying is bs 010
Nerok @nerok.tube · 25/09/2026My favorite was a couple jobs ago when they were like “we’re giving you a promotion!” and then a week later came back like “hey, uh, so actually we can’t promote you because middle management said that would violate our target ratios for number of employees at each level” 100
Nerok @nerok.tube · 25/09/2026“• You’re the #1 employee on the metrics for our customer support tickets. • The team holds you in high regard as being a thought leader for our technical decisions and process improvements. Overall: meets expectations” Damn, at least they didn’t set the bar too low 440
Nerok @nerok.tube · 25/09/2026Performance review: “• The 2 projects you’re leading have gone smoother than expected. • One of them far exceeds the technical requirements thanks to the architecture you developed. • We appreciate that these projects haven’t slowed you down from making significant contributions to our core product. 121
Nerok @nerok.tube · 24/09/2026You can include a lot on one page. Don’t make a skills list and then a paragraph about each job, just make each job a list of bullets that bold the skills - Reduced tech debt by migrating *Vue* front-end across a major version update and parallelizing *Playwright* tests, cutting test runtime by 30% 000
Nerok @nerok.tube · 24/09/2026The AI filters don’t reject a resume because it didn’t have every single keyword relevant to the entire industry. They just don’t. They reject based on certain keywords that are almost certainly in the job listing, or because the resume doesn’t show a trend toward that job. 100
Nerok @nerok.tube · 24/09/2026I’ve never heard A tbh. And as for B, a better solution there imo is to have multiple versions of your resume, each tailored to the job you’re applying for. Or at least keep a couple pre-prepared that kinda cover the general basis for the types of jobs you’re applying to. 200
Nerok @nerok.tube · 24/09/2026Definitely a lot of them! Church offers a sense of community that a lot of people today don’t know where else to find. That makes it way less stressful for them to just go with the flow, since challenging their beliefs risks losing that community. 060
Nerok @nerok.tube · 24/09/2026Maybe this is an international difference, but in the US, a resume is a brief summary of your skills and experience, while a CV is a detailed explanation of everything you’ve done related to a given subject 110
Nerok @nerok.tube · 24/09/2026I was raised Christian, and their thought process is basically “erm ackshually, a 6 month old baby doesn’t know God exists, therefore they converted once they were old enough to understand.” It’s a deliberate conflation of conversion (voluntary) and indoctrination (involuntary) 2400
Nerok @nerok.tube · 24/09/2026I do, but I also remember getting frustrated as I tried to fit all that shit onto a single page because I knew that’s what was reasonable 130
Nerok @nerok.tube · 24/09/2026You need to cap your resume at one page. Even if you’re a fuckin PhD with 15+ years of industry experience, you need to boil that shit down tbh. If I want to know the wordy details about every single thing you’ve done, I’ll ask for your CV, which is a whole ass different kind of document 110
Nerok @nerok.tube · 24/09/2026Why do people with 2 years of job experience think it’s ok to send me a resume 2 pages long 450
Nerok @nerok.tube · 24/09/2026Anecdotally, I have been liking Proton Pass (I also like their VPN and email service), but I’m not sure if it meets your requirements or not. I mostly cared about it integrating nicely on the platforms I use tbh 000
