Playing through Pragmata, which I like a lot more than I even thought I would, but haven't seen anyone talking about their fake poster for a gritty Ghouls n' Ghosts movie adaptation of the future.

"It was delicately strapped and encased over Egregore's arm by worshipful white hands, each of which, momentary purpose fulfilled, swiftly roiled back into the subsumed host of resinite wombs and composite canisters that fashioned Egregore's true 'body.'" The latest chapter of Roses Under Glass, Interlude Benthos, is available now for public consumption! And I do mean consumption... In this shorter installment, we take a voyeuristic detour from the main cast for a cyborg orgy full of intrigue and the universal language of cannibalism. bit.ly/4rcnjaX

Almost done with edits on the latest Roses Under Glass, which means I can finally talk about my new favorite freak. Katabasis is the self-lobotomized cybernetic drone swarm serving as ambassador to the human race. It just LOVES being around humans. The humans even learn to love it back! Always.

Weekend reminder that the latest chapter of Roses Under Glass is available now! Get to know three members of what I can only describe as a nonconsensual parasitic polycule with TREMENDOUSLY unpleasant mechs as they wrestle with their traumatic pasts. Also, some damn good mech fights. bit.ly/4we8R3E

Roses Under Glass - Chapter 4: Crucible is finally here! The status quo has shifted since the assassination attempt on the A-COM Board. Now, Shalquoir has been dispatched with a terrible new purpose: to retrieve the loves of her life... bit.ly/4oOVG6M

A monochrome painting of an enormous, many-armed mech with werewolf-like features. It is huched over in the rain, holding what look like intestines wrapped around some of its claws. The intestines trail off into the distance toward the stomach of a second, more humanoid mech. It clutches its wounded torso while holding itself upright with a sword.

Playing a bit of Metal Eden, which is a super solid little AA Doom Eternal-like. You play a disposable combat doll girl who can Morph Ball and it's all very pretty... But also the protagonist is known as a "Hyper Unit" and every 30 seconds someone abbreviates it to just call her a "Hyper."

Zalmoxis is not a particularly wet mech, despite literally having fluid as part of its core design. Egregore on the other hand, despite being made of wax, is a sort of ontologically wet mech.

Movie Night with the gang this week was Johnny Mnemonic in Black and White, which honestly DOES feel from toe to tip how the movie was always intended. The shot composition was clearly made for it and the special effects hold up much better this way. It's also just an insanely relatable film.

Golden Kamuy, like so many things, WOULD be better if it was primarily about gay women instead of gay men, but it does feature transfem Hannibal Lector, who at one point eats (part of) a central protagonist's brain, so it's still pretty good.

Oathseal, my latest story, is up to read now! In a land where magical wax seals determine a knight's abilities and devotion, Ser Lucerne du Pryce prides herself on her natural talents. Yet it's her mind that will be put to the test when she is summoned to meet with her Empress... bit.ly/oathseal

A knight with long, white hair stands with a red, wax seal pressed to her forehead. The seal features a gold ouroboros at the center. Her expression is dazed and she clutches her head.

Another woman stands behind her. Most of her face is obscured by her hair. The one eye we should see is covered by a similar wax seal. She is holding the knight from behind like a lover with one hand. The other hand holds the wax-stained seal that seemingly just stamped the knight.

The party member has feelings for the protagonist because he sees him struggle with his past, yet remain selfless and kind while his native country is at war with colonial powers. Which IS a pretty reasonable motivation to fall in love! Sort of impressed. It's not played for laughs or as a Problem.

130

Nerium Lorese @neriumlorese.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

Huh... I was picking up on vibes that the main character and one of the other party members had a thing going on, but figured it would actually turn out to be some Big Plot stuff or something. Not a romantic subplot. Did not expect this in a Japan-only PlayStation 1 mech tactics game from 1997.

Nerium Lorese @neriumlorese.bsky.social · 06/03/2026

My actual favorite art detail so far, however, is that Amia has apparently painted this Jessica Rabbit-looking sexy lady on the side of her mech like a WWII fighter pilot. I know so many girls who would do this.

Front Mission 2 seems like the least-loved game in the series, and I can see a lot of reasons why, but also I kind of adore all the different outfits. Every mech pilot goes out in their random, mismatched choice of casual-wear.
